RAY KEATING
CENTER ETHANOL COMPANY, LLC

Ray was introduced by Bob Luitjohan.  Ray is the Grain Manager for Center Ethanol.  The Company was incorporated in July, 2006, constructed in October, 2006, and was completed in December 2008.  They are located on Hwy 3, in Sauget, IL.  They are served by two railroads, Alton Southern and Terminal.

They process approx. 20 million bushel of corn/year.  From that corn, they produce Ethanol, Feed, and Carbon Dioxide.  After obtaining the corn, they grind it as fine as possible, fermentate the corn for about 40 hours.  After they fermentate it, they are left with a product that is 7% alcohol and separate it from there.  It is separated into glumpy stuff that is dried out and is then fed to livestock.  This feed is valuable in that it has concentrated levels of fat and protein.  The rest is liquid that goes to a distillery to separate out the water and alcohol for over 10 hours.  After this, they are left with 99% alcohol.  After one more process, they get the last 1% tout to get 100% alcohol.

Centra-Oil markets and sells their Ethanol by railway and truck.  80% of the dry feed is exported, while 20% is sold locally.  100% of the corn is bought from local grain companies, like Oberbeck Grain.
