Camp Ondessonk is a youth camp in Southern Illinois, located near Vienna.  They own 983 acres next to the Shawnee National Forest.  About 45-50% of their campers come from the Belleville/Metro East area, but the rest come from all over the nation.  Their summer programs include Archery, Horses, Aquatics, Nature Programs, Rock Climbing, Back packing and service approximately 2500 kids over the summer.  They also have year round programs like Retreats, Specialty Weekends, Outdoor Education, Staff Training, Father/Son and Mother/Daughter weekends, and Haunted hayrides.  Camp Ondessonk is run by over 500 volunteers.  Pete Korte and his family are big supporters of the camp.  The camp relies heavily upon gift donations to help kids that can't afford it, make it to the camp.  This year they are celebrating their 50th Anniversary.  Their Annual Golf Outing Fundraiser is fast approaching.  This year it will be on September 19th at the Locust Hills Golf Club in Lebanon, IL.
