Rotary Picture Day - Remember that we'll be taking a club picture on June 9th at the Highland Country Club. You have less than a week to get in shape and looking good!

We have 5,993 service hours logged to date - only a few weeks left to hit our goal of 10,000 hours. (Let's see - 4,007 hours required . . 75 members . . 28 days . . . we all need to volunteer 2 hours every day in June!)
Farmer's Market - This Thursday, June 4 the Highland "Market und Mehr" (Farmer and Artisan market) begins at Lindendale Park. This week Buzz Widmer was selected. Buzz is the owner and master gardner of Widmer Floral in Highland located at 1619 Papin. Buzz born and raised in Highland. Both of his parents were gardners, so you might say it's in his genes. Buzz and his late wife, Jane, had 3 children. At age 17 Buzz went into the Army Infantry and was kicked out the same day to be a saxophone player in the Army Band. ( which was a great honor). When Buzz told his father his dad said, "You finish school first and then go get your ass shot at". That was all we had time for. |

Our Program today was French foreign exchange student, Agathe Gernez . Agathe's host parents are Toby Dean, Terry Leitschuh's brother-in-law. Agathe gave video presentation of her homeland. Very interesting and informative. Thanks Agathe .
