PROGRAM

Belinda Counts - FACES

05-05-09 Belinda Counts

Connie Blackmon introduced Belinda Counts of the Highland School FACES program.  FACES stands for Family and Classroom Educational Support.  Belinda has  been with the program for 7 years as a certified parent educator. Belinda talked about the Prenatal til 3 program.  This program is done  through " Home Visits"which supports parents, helps them develop parenting skills, gives knowledge of child development and they try to make it fun for the parents and the kids while actually playing with the kids.  They leave handouts and  resource referrals and there is always a literacy component to each visit.  You might ask who can participate ...children that show signs of need in development, children of single parents  and children of parents of lower income. If you would like to know more or have any questions, you can reach Belinda at the Highland Primary at 654-2107 or link from the web page bcounts@highlandcusd5.org
