PROGRAM
Susan Reilmann - Southern Illinois Hospice

04-21-09 Susan Reilmann

Adrian introduced Susan Reilmann of Southern Illinois Hospice.  Susan told us that Hospice of Southern Illinois is the only non-profit  hospice in the state.  It is also the oldest in the state serving rural areas and covering 27 counties.   We learned of a Community Hospice Home that is going up on route 143.   The Community Hospice Home will expand the hospice concept of care to a home-like setting for people who cannot or choose not to die at their own home. It is an alternative to hospitalization or nursing home care.  It will be the only licensed hospice residence in southern Illinois and only the 2nd in the state.  The home will feature a community room and library where groups will have the opportunity to participate in and learn about end of life care.   Hospice of Southern Illinois is dedicated to quality end of life care with compassion and dignity.  If you would like to know more visit them online at www.hospice.org
