Grants for Home-Based Day Care Businesses
Grant opportunities are now available for income-eligible individuals in Franklin county who want to start their own Professional Type-B home-based child care business. Must be at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Income Guideline to participate in the program. Golf Outing Raises Funds for Training Program
Vincent Smith, Board Chair of INCREASE CDC  | INCREASE CDC is proud to announce that the 9th Annual Golf Outing has generated $2300 for the INCREASE CDC Microenterprise Training Program. These funds will financially assist approximately 23 individuals of low-to-moderate income (LMI) households in central Ohio providing them with training and the tools necessary to build new businesses in the community. Graduate Highlight Teresa Jones, SimplyGood Granola Teresa Jones, owner of SimplyGood Granola, completed the INCREASE CDC Developing the Business Plan course in the winter of 2010 with an idea in mind and a product on hand. Appearing as a vendor twice a week at the downtown Columbus Pearl Market, she has transformed her homemade granola mixes into a thriving supply source for the health-conscious consumer. SimplyGood has been featured in the Downtown Columbus news magazine and has completed five days at the Ohio State Fair in the Ohio Proud Farmer's Market tent sponsored by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. SimplyGood is currently in negotiations with other businesses to supply granola, trail mixes, baked goods and to share commercial kitchen space for increased productivity.
