There were over 150 total decisions in Forney, TX this weekend. On Sunday night we were part of a event held for a 14 year old girl who has cancer and has been given until December to live! I met with her and her parents and was moved greatly by their faith! The girl's name is Laurren and her first request after hearing her diagnosis was to ask God to help her have a good attitude! She is a beautiful girl with a sweet spirit! I squeezed down the bulge in my throat as I met her but I so wanted to cry. Her family is asking God to heal her! The doctors have done all they can do and have all but given up!
I cannot fathom being in her father's shoes. He told me that all the family wanted was for God to receive glory from Laurren's life. He remarked "Either way, Lauren wins." He continued "If God takes her, she goes to heaven, if she is healed then we get to keep her. Because she has accepted Jesus, she is a winner!"
After seeing how many people had come to Christ as a result of the event, they were ecstatic! I used her story throughout the sermon as a example of the need to be prepared for eternity. Many responded, including a 28 year old lady who cried out to them "Thank God for your daughter, because of this event for her, I just went forward and accepted Jesus as my Savior!"
This Sunday begins a huge crusade in the Clovis/Portales, New Mexico area! We have rented a 6500 seat facility with numerous churches and denominations participating. We have one of the most prominent and godly singers in the nation- Jason Crabb- doing worship! We have drama being performed by Clyde Annandale, who is a incredible actor from Atlanta . Elvis Presley's brother- Rick Stanley, will also share what it was like to grow up at Graceland with a famous older brother. We are giving away a car and utilizing every possible tool to infiltrate the area!
The potential is tremendous! We are asking God to save hundreds of people. We are trying to tap into the entire culture, which includes the college, air base, Hispanic community, as well as every other people group imaginable! However, there are also great risks to undertake a event of this size. The budget has yet to be met and Satan [ as expected] has brought an array of challenges!
Would you pray the budget will be met, that all 6500 seats will be filled, that God will give us favor with the whole county, that people will be compelled by the Spirit to attend, that the city will be turned upside down for Jesus and lastly, ask God to bring overwhelming repentance and brokenness?
