I saw on the Discovery Channel that people who are bitten by venomous snakes are given a very unusual antidote. Scientists realized years ago, that the blood of a lamb can destroy the poisonous venom!! It has been used for years to treat multitudes of people, who, without it, would be doomed to death.
Jesus is called throughout scripture, the Lamb of God. Hebrews 9:22 tells us that without HIS blood, there is NO forgiveness of sin. We have all been penetrated by the venom of sin and just like people depend on a lamb's blood for physical healing- they must also depend on "THE LAMB'S" blood for spiritual healing. Eph 2:13, 1:7
A blood bath has never been more appealing!!! The world needs a transfusion of a permanent kind!
When is the last time you saw 54 people come forward during a Sunday morning service to accept Christ? We did on Sunday and I can tell you it is rare. It is not uncommon to see students respond but these were 95% adults. There were another 30 plus rededications and this was a church running about 300 in attendance! Sunday night there were 111 people who came forward to ask Jesus to be their Lord, God and Savior. Including all 3 services, over a 48 hour time frame, there were almost as many saved as they have members!
What will be the evidence of your faith when you stand before God? Jesus' half brother, James, says faith without works is a dead, pseudo, and phony faith. Will your faith reveal compassionate actions for the poor, hurting, forgotten, wounded, sick, raped, infected, addicted, suicidal, homeless and lost people that Jesus died for??? Will you take your Jesus out of the church and into the streets and community where He is needed?
A belief that is only good for Sunday is not worth calling a commitment. This world longs to see a generation of believers who will quit talking and start showing genuine love and compassion. The church owes God and the world an apology for its neglect and hypocrisy.
The blame starts right here with me! Sadly, I am not the committed and faithful man I need to be. I have turned a deaf ear and blind eye way too many times. Ask God to help me act upon the convictions he has levied on my heart.
The Red Cross says everyone COULD give THEIR blood. Jesus says everyone SHOULD give HIS blood!
