| Gone Country! |

Thanks for remembering me, and the television show in your prayers. It was a cranking time. Having my Mom and Dad in attendance, as well as Bill and Tammy Loveless (Crusade Directors from GA) and especially Missy, added a lot of excitement. The Tennessee audience was really fired up to hear the singers!! The electricity in the air was inescapable!! It's too late to pray for the taping, but not too late to pray that God would lead people to turn on the show -- people that normally would not watch!! I trust God, that many will watch to see one of their favorite country stars from the past or present and stay tuned in - unaware that they are going to be confronted with the Gospel. Prayerfully, those who wouldn't listen to a speaker, will be drawn into a head on collision with Jesus. I am still amazed that I was invited to be on the show. Everyone else was a well known entertainer/singer. Obviously, I'm neither, but I do wish I could sing!!! Most of the musicians thought I was part of the other groups' entourage. I laughed when one of the Oak Ridge Boys told me after I spoke, "I thought you worked here or I would have spoken earlier. What you said is what people REALLY needed to hear". Serving God is such a rush!!! We left the studio after the show and stopped by a Nashville restaurant that was closing. A girl told us she was trying to lead her lost manager to Christ. I complimented her on sharing her faith and told her I was an Evangelist. She asked my name, and once I replied, she asked if I had ever been to Clovis, New Mexico. I said "Yes, I've preached there numerous times in preparation for a large crusade this November". She mentioned she had just moved from Clovis about 9 months ago and went on to say that her father was a part of some large outreach and wondered if I knew him. Before we left, we prayed with all the employees (including her unbelieving manager). One of the girls was moved to tears. We all hugged before walking out. Later that night, her father sent us an e mail telling us how his elated daughter had called to tell him about what happened. Remarkably, he is the counseling chairman for our Clovis/Portales, NM Crusade in November and--be assured-- he was all fired up!!!!!
What are the odds of · me being invited to share the Gospel on a program with country singers? · stopping at a restaurant where our waitress is from Clovis, New Mexico? · finding out she is willing to witness at work (to her boss!)? and · discovering her father is our counseling chairman? It just proves God really does miracles and can use common, everyday people like you and me. Will you and I spend today getting prepared for tomorrow? Pray for multitudes to encounter Jesus TODAY!
Gone Country,
