Harvest Link- Mr. Mom July 14, 2009
Missy is out of town for the next few days and I'm playing Mr. Mom.  It is always a unique experience that is enjoyable and challenging.  It's time for me to do some real work!!! For those who think stay at home moms have it easy, be sure to send her away for a couple of days and take a dose of her medicine. Your world will be rocked!!  Hopefully, no one will disappear or be left behind somewhere!

The last few weeks have been busy and productive. Last week, I spoke at our fundraising banquet where we will be doing a very large crusade. The churches need to raise a significant amount of money in the midst of a very trying economy! Will you pray that God supernaturally provides? There is so much at stake!!! We are believing God to fill the 6500 seat arena for all four nights!

In one of our crusades, there is some tension between communities.  I'm certain that Satan is trying to create a roadblock of dissension! Please also make this a matter of prayer!

I also traveled to Silverthorne, Colorado with Missy to meet with a friend who owns a cabin there. It was a time of fellowship, instruction and encouragement from a very godly and influential man and his wife that have forgotten more about ministry and Godly living than I will probably ever know! We hung out, talked about every conceivable subject and even golfed. I don't like golfing and he was pretty shocked to play with such a rookie.  He plays with Presidents and leaders of state and had to loan me his clubs. I lost about 20 of his finest golf balls!  He told me that I was probably the worst golfer he had ever hit the course with.  I was just glad to be with him and enjoy the day time "highs" of 70 degrees as well as the snow-covered mountains. Missy and his wife went shopping!! They spent money and I was actually glad about it!

We also were very privileged to have dinner with the incredible author,  Phillip Yancy. You may have read some of  his great works like "The Jesus I Never Knew". He seemed very surprised to meet a full time Evangelist and was very inquisitive about our work - which was a little surprising to me! His intellect far surpasses my mind but it was very refreshing to meet a man who experienced tremendous success, yet remained honest, humble and open.

email header 2This week I fly to Baton Rouge to join the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's "Rock The River Tour". Eugene and I have been invited to pick their brain and learn from the great work they are doing for Christ. It is a wonderful opportunity to grow and learn from the best.  Will you pray for this pivotal point in our ministry? I truly think this a very important week for us and I want to capitalize on the open door.

As you see in this e mail (if you downloaded the pics), we have new family pictures. Many of you - as well as the churches we travel to, wanted to see an updated family photo. They will be on our website under "promo tools" in the next week! If not sooner!

Please don't forget our prayer requests for upcoming crusades.

Jay
