I've taken a couple weeks off to hunt, hang with family and rest. I have been gone for 3 months so it has been good to be home!!

I'm noticing that the spiritual climate is changing as I travel. I'm seeing that people are becoming more open to Christ and His salvation. One of the reasons is because people are realizing that confidence placed in stockpiled money, campaign slogans, technology, or political parties is misplaced trust. I'm glad that God is bringing this nation to the realization that we need Divine help. It seems a good thing  to me when a nation figures out that they cannot prosper independent of God on a long term basis!! For too long we have been "blatantly" self sufficient and able to buy, swindle or negotiate our way out of difficulty. Our arrogance and pride is a stench in the nostrils of the Holy One. The Bible clearly states that if we push God away long enough that He may give us up to our own ways. I pray that God will use our nation's financial difficulties as a megaphone to bring us to repentance!!

I was turkey hunting this morning and God used  these fascinating birds to remind of an important marriage principle! In the "turkey woods" the hens call out [yelp] to the gobblers, and he listens and answers [gobbles] back. Once the hen hears his response she is then willing to move towards him. By nature she is a responder!!! If he is not an attentive listener, she will be unresponsive and go her own way. Watching them for several hours this morning was quite amazing. They frolic and played together in companionship in a way seldom seen among married couples. Once they joined company the majority of the hens played while the gobblers stood watch as if they were protecting the queen of England. Their red necks reminded me of the red uniforms the soldiers wear in London. I felt convicted that I often do not listen as well as I should to Missy, and that I can be a better protector for my family by constantly being on spiritual guard. Maybe our wives  sometimes seem emotionally disconnected because we haven't had open ears. Maybe our "fix everything" mindset is not what they are looking for. Maybe they just want us to listen and to feel protected. I was determined to ease some of the stress of the hens by alleviating one of their "one track mind" pursuers, but I was unable to oblige. I guess for one more day they will have to endure being chased around nonstop!!!!

Eugene and I leave for Louisiana on Saturday where he will preach in a Baptist church and I will preach at an Assembly of God church. This is a pre-crusade rally for a big event we will do there next spring. Please remember us both in your prayers. I will also be back in New Mexico the following week to preach in a large Charismatic church in preparation for our biggest event of the year in November. It will also be a multi-denominational crusade.

I am extremely excited about being contacted by the largest Christian magazine in the nation. They are considering doing a story on our ministry and have also expressed interest in me writing an article about Evangelism for the magazine. It would be a huge opportunity and a tremendous blessing for our ministry. Ask God to give us favor since this would give us a lot of exposure among churches unfamiliar with our ministry and enable us to preach the Gospel to many more unbelievers.

It's almost 3:00am and I'm tired, but I want you to know that YOU are the secret to this ministry's success.  I love you and I'm grateful for your support.
