I have been gone and unable to send updates due to an extremely busy schedule, but God has been faithful to draw his bow of mercy and pierce the hearts of many that are in need of salvation with his arrowhead of grace. People have fallen under conviction and been struck by the Holy Spirit as if he were a lightning bolt!!!! In one event, someone came forward before the message was finished because they were so desperate for Jesus that they could not wait for HIS salvation. I will share some recent happenings to get you up to speed!! |

In Van Buren AR, there were close to 350 decisions for Christ in 48 hours at our Wild Game Weekend. We had two board members in attendance and an intern. This thrilled me that they got to experience such a special visit from God. We had 62 ADULT MEN saved Saturday night at our men's dinner where we had 700 in attendance. There were 182 students that accepted Christ Monday night in our student event. Many other decisions were made Sunday morning and evening. It was like God sprayed the audience with a machine gun of forgiveness!!! They gave away $18,500 worth of prizes including guns, dogs, fishing trips, and hunting trips. I was blessed to have been given a dream hunt by the church that I never thought I would be able to take. God impressed them to give me an Elk hunting trip in Wyoming where we will chase bulls on the corner of Yellowstone. It is an incredible hunt, and I was blown away when they unexpectedly presented it to me before the Sunday morning service. I wish they would have waited until after I'd preached, because my mind was on a bungee cord the whole service. ADD at its finest!! I honestly do NOT understand why God is so good to me!!! I am such a poor soldier and yet he continues to rain down his goodness!!! I can't wait to one day ask him WHY!!! I preached in Ruidoso, NM last Sunday after me and the family were loaned an awesome house on the top of the mountain to rest for a few days. I even met a professional and highly educated woman that thinks she might have seen Bigfoot or someone dressed as him walking through the mountains. We had dinner with a large group of people, and she attended. She reluctantly shared the story for fear that we might think she's crazy. She was saved Sunday morning, and I told my family that she is the only person I know who has seen Jesus and BIGFOOT. That's pretty cute!!!! I recently was offered a position as pastor at a great church, but I declined the offer. I want nothing more than to stay focused [solely] on reaching the lost!!! I was never too crazy about funerals or weddings anyway!! We have a new volunteer in the office who gives us about 15 hours a week to keep up with our mission. She is super sweet and helpful!! God also provided an intern through a godly businessman who is a dear friend that owns several operations here locally. I have known our new intern for several years. He longs to do full-time evangelism. His employer was willing to allow him to work with us for three hours daily to enable him to find out if this is his calling. What is so amazing is that he is going to continue to pay him his full salary! A couple of days before my friend called, my staff asked me to hire another person because we couldn't keep up. It is truly a "God thing"!!!! I know of very few men in the world who would be willing to pay an employee to work [for someone else] just so he could assist him in finding their calling. Our new intern has a great heart for Jesus and the lost, and I think his presence at Harvest is mutually beneficial. This is how I personally got started in full time evangelism. Pray for my friend and his various businesses!! He is an incredible man and obviously loves Jesus and helping others to build Christ's kingdom. When I asked him why he was willing to send one of his employees to us when he was going to lose money he told me that, as an employer, his greatest responsibility was to make others better and help his staff be better equipped to serve Christ. I'll never forget his remarks as he talked about how money was secondary to keeping a Kingdom focus. He is able to see through the eyes of Jesus, and I want to follow suit. One day of favor is better than a lifetime of labor!!!!!!!!!! I recently shared with you the incredible move of God in Texarkana where there were about 300 decisions for Jesus in one service. We decided to make it available on our website to create believability among the pastors of what God can do and to allow YOU to be able to visibly see how God is working!! It is on our homepage and is in the big box on the left. It is about 4 minutes long, but I think you will be blessed to see such a great move of God and to see the "no nonsense" way God has led us to give the invitation!! I will be leaving for Ft Worth to preach at First Baptist Sunday morning. Pulling the Trigger and shooting HIS Gospel, Jay P.S. I have included an e-mail from our intern Anthonie about our event in Arkansas, so you can read someone else's perspective on what God is doing. |

My name is Anthonie York, and I have been blessed with the awesome opportunity and privilege to be an intern with Jay Lowder Harvest Ministries. I wanted to share just a little of what I experienced at a celebration weekend recently. First of all, WOW! It was indeed a huge blessing to attend the celebration weekend in Van Buren Arkansas. I am a big hunting and fishing guy, so it was right up my alley. I loved the hunting expo with all those huge mounts everywhere. There was just about everything you could think of. You could buy guns, bows, fishing equipment, and more. You could set up guided hunts and fishing trips, and they also had a silent auction. Hank with Kingdom Dogs put on an amazing presentation with his champion Black Labs. They had kid fish, a B. B. gun trailer, and electronic video hunt. There was a something for everybody in the family. What an amazing way to allow people to have a great time in a non-threatening environment on church grounds! After all of the daytime activities, we had a great steak dinner Saturday evening. You are probably thinking it can't get any better than that. The best part was after eating a great meal we were all invited to the sanctuary where we were blessed by a message that was truly God ordained. After Jay finished the message and presented the gospel, he invited the men to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The response was very humbling. It just melted my heart when I watched grown men truly broken with tears running down their face give their lives over to Jesus Christ and accept Him as their savior. I'm telling you I was about to explode with joy right there. It was almost as if I could hear the angles in heaven singing. If there was nothing else the rest of the weekend, that right there would have made the 5-hour trip one way worth every last mile. At this point, I am beside myself, and we were not even close to being done. We still had Sunday morning and evening services. We went into the schools on Monday and then watched God just explode in the Monday evening service. You could just feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in that place. I am not sure of the exact numbers for the whole weekend, but somewhere around 300 decisions were made in about 48 hours. I am just in awe over the way God has obviously blessed this ministry, but even more so the way sweet Jesus has allowed me to be a part of it. Once again, WOW!! I have been truly humbled and blessed. Thank you for taking your time to read a little bit of what I experienced. May you be truly blessed, Anthonie York | |
