Hi fellow readers ,
Though I don't know all of you who receive this newsletter personally, you are my literacy and reading friends. This month I launched our first e-bookjoy celebration. I hope the poem and message made you both smile and reflect on how lucky we are to savor books.
Many of you are planning or supporting culminating Da events in your community. This year, in a special way, I'm hoping that schools, including middle schools, are planning their Da events. Encourage and plan book fiestas at home too. Universities/ colleges are also engaged. We'll be holding our third Dapalooza on my blog throughout April. Join us!
Let's nurture our creative selves and our creative friends.

A LETTER TO KIDS
Dear Girls and Boys,
Are you patient? I'm not. Right now, far away from me, illustrators are working on art for some of my new books. I can't wait to see the sketches, and I can't wait to hold the finished books in my hands. I always have to wait years for that special moment. I don't get to talk to the illustrators ahead and sometimes I never meet them. I sure like to though. Read more ...
