 | I Will Not Be Shaken
|
Donna Hutchman | "The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him." 2 Chronicles 6:9 There will be distractions and the enemy will attempt to entice you. There will always be things that appear to be more important or more appealing. But if you listen to the still small voice speaking to you; telling you something is not right you will not be distracted. You will do what needs to be done. Go with your first love, the Lord! He delights in you! I have had much to do this summer. The Lord made it clear to me where He was working and where I needed to be involved. But it seemed that whenever I got focused on things of the Lord something would crop up to divert my attention. Sometimes it was loud, ungodly music from my neighbor's house. Then there was a phone call that came just as I was working on plans for the mission team. A few times it was a disturbing email or maybe just a thought that I forgot to start a load of laundry. Whatever it may have been any particular day I had to resolve myself to get back to what I knew the Lord had for me to do. God has been at work in Salmo this summer through the obedience of His people. He has been strengthening the hearts of those who are fully committed to Him. Connection 2010 is complete. However the work has just begun. Many seeds have been planted, others have been watered. Luke 10:2 tells us "The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields." The Lord sent many workers to help us with Connection 2010 from Immanuel Bible Church, Bellingham Washington & Sandia Baptist Church, Albuquerque New Mexico. We are praising God for sending willing hearts and hands. I was reminded this summer that: Frustration and disappointment will come. Distractions will been thrown in front of us.
I will choose to remember: Who is in charge Who I belong to Who loves me more than I can imagine Who made the ultimate sacrifice for my sin Who is always with me.
With those things in mind, any sacrifice I make seems insignificant.
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth." Timothy 2:15 Compromise is not an option.
I am excited, honored, and humbled to be about His work. As the lyrics from Vineyard's I will not be shaken says................ "Keep my eyes on you Lord. I will not be moved. Keep my feet on the ride. I will not be shaken."
I'll take the advice from my dear friend Diane, I won't give up.

 | When God's Woman Wants to Give Up!
|
Kristi Cook | When God's Woman Wants to Give Up!, written by Diane Nix, is a practical life application must-read for all women. Experiencing many trials in her own life, Nix walks women through Job's life focusing on the personal trials Job's wife faced. A poignant factor in this book is Nix's underlying theme of how a woman of God can keep her life in balance. Nix covers topics such as the importance of godly friendships, knowing God as your "daddy," and when life seems unfair. A very light bulb defining checklist is provided for practical use of living in balance.
As a pastor's wife myself, I was deeply touched with Diane Nix's honesty on trials and hardships faced being a minister's wife. Many of the difficulties and hardships covered in Nix's book are not isolated to Nix alone. Ministry wives must face these very same trials every day. I find it comforting to dwell in the honestly on her pages.
If I could easily sum it up for you, I would simply say that When God's Woman Wants to Give Up! should be a required handbook and guide for all ministry wives! Read it and be inspired to face your trials head on with God not only by your side but leading you to the blessing on the other side.
