Musings from Donna Hutchman
If you are waiting on God for a breakthrough or some special answer to prayer, remember that delays are not necessarily denials. Perhaps you may just need to wait for God's perfect timing. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Keep your faith and hope in God, believing that at just the right time, He will open doors for you. We can always have faith but we cannot always see the results immediately. Wait, God will act in His time. When He does, you will know without a doubt that it was worth the wait!

We All Need a Little Peace!
Greetings from one who needs a little peace to many I know are just like me. We just need peace in the midst of this journey. The Lord has not promised us a life free from stress, or hardship. He has promised His peace. Where does it go?!?The dictionary describes peace as "freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquil." Jesus said, "Peace
I leave with you; My
peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be
troubled, nor let it be fearful......" Several years ago, Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, Texas did a survey on what people really want. The top three answers were: 1. Love, 2. Happiness, and 3. Peace. Isn't it amazing that the first three attributes of the fruit of the Spirit are love, joy and peace. (Galatians 5:22-23)
The peace of the world is:
Emotional
Circumstantial
Temporary
Controlling
Work
Hard at achieving it
Intricately
related to personal relationships
temporary, The peace of our Savior is:
Long
lasting
Immovable
Long
suffering during extended times of trouble
Calm
in the midst of chaos
Busy
but never hurried
Aware
of circumstances but never worried
Weight
of the world but always rested (sleeps peacefully)
No
need for control but controlled in all of actions and reactions
In Philippians we find a guide to help us seek the peace that our Savior promises us. "4Rejoice in the Lord always; again I
will say, rejoice! 5Let your
gentle spirit
be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6Be anxious
for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all
comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7
Steps to Spiritual Peace
1. Rejoice Always 2. Practice Selflessness 3. Dont' Worry about anything 4. Pray about everything 5. Be thankful for all things
Then the PEACE of God comes.
The peace that passes all of understanding. This will guard or protect our hearts as we travel this journey of life.
Peace
is not the absence of
conflict
It
is the presence of Jesus
In
the
midst (center) of
the conflict
In
the book of John, Jesus says, "In this world you will have tribulation
(trouble) but take courage I have overcome the world." We can know
peace when we know the Prince of Peace!
Love you and praying for you,
PEACE SISTER, Diane www.dianenix.com
