Happy Summer!  In the last few days, I have received a couple of emails from Pastor's wives who are just "going through it."  In fact, there is an amazingly true, common statement that I have been hearing, "Life is not fair."  Or this one, "Life just stinks."  And finally how about this statement, "I would just like to run away!"  Have you ever felt like that?  I have.  I have even said that if someone else would run away my life would be a lot happier.  I didn't need to go, but if they would - WOW would life be better.  Can you relate.  Of course you can!

But we were called to acknowledge the goodness of our Abba Daddy God in the midst of all of life.  When it's good Praise Him!  When it's bad - Praise Him!  He is faithful when life is not.  He is constant when finances are not.  He is Truth when others are not.  He is the Way!  He is the Mighty God!  He is our Banner!  He is our everlasting Father!  He is our Tower of strength!  He is and always will be - Our Abba Daddy God.  Now, I don't know how your life situations are going to play out but I do know that in the midst of the journey, you and I are to praise Him for who He is.  As a friend of mine said to me this week, "You better get your praise on Diane!"

So Ladies, Taste and See that our Lord is GOOD and get your praise on!
Love you. Praying for you!
Never Give Up!

Check out what's happening down below and this week Heather is writing about something very dear to my heart!  CHOCOLATE and the WORD!

Taste and See

A chocolate restaurant. Could the magazine article be correct?  Are there really such things? This was going to take some detective skills on my part and maybe even the use of my taste buds just to make sure.  Thankfully, I was on vacation and had all the free time in the world to take on this sweet adventure.

I arrived at the Chocolate Lounge to discover a three-story building filled with everything chocolate.  The two-page menu had every decadent selection of chocolate dessert you can image. Surely a sugar-coma was in my near future!

God gives us His word to be a sweet delight in our lives.

When your words came, I ate them;
they were my joy and my heart's delight,
for I bear your name,
O LORD God Almighty. (Jeremiah 15:16)

God's word comes into our lives when we read, hear, or listen to it. It is designed specifically to bring joy, because when applied to our lives it brings with it the character of God.

As my life is transformed, my appetite for God's word increases.  I hunger more of what His word has to offer.  Taste and see that the LORD is good. (Psalm 34:8)

It is interesting that I never crave something I have never eaten. I never crave sushi. Not once in my entire life have I ever craved kimchi, a Korean dish which consists of fermented vegetables!

Why have I never craved these foods? I have never tasted them.

Cultivating a hunger for God's word must entail reading coupled with applying it to my life.  As I read more and more of God's written word it challenges my thoughts, reorders my priorities,
 and changes my actions.

I have treasured the words of His mouth
more than my necessary food.  (Job 23:12)

Take a moment this week to taste the sweetness of God's word and maybe even have some chocolate!
