Our Mission
Triad Health Project provides emotional and practical support to individuals living with HIV/AIDS, to their loved ones, and to those at risk for HIV/AIDS; implements strategies to educate those at risk and the community about HIV/AIDS; and advocates locally, regionally, and nationally for individuals and groups infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Our Vision
We will stand together for as long as it takes until HIV/AIDS is no more, working together to promote enlightenment, dignity, acceptance, understanding, and love, demonstrating that we are not only enduring this epidemic, but prevailing over it.

June 5th marked 30 years since the Centers for Disease Control reported the first cases of HIV/AIDS in the United States. While so many advances have been made in HIV/AIDS over the past 30 years, the hard reality is that the disease is still very much with us today. An estimated 30 million people around the world are currently living with HIV/AIDS, and about 20% do not know that they have the disease. What's more, an alarming 2.5 million new infections occur every year.
The 2010 North Carolina Epidemiologic Profile for HIV/STD Prevention and Care Planning estimates that 35,000 people are currently living with HIV/AIDS in NC. Of those, an estimated 2,500 live in Guilford County.
This year alone, over 500 people living with HIV/AIDS will receive compassionate support, counseling, and direct client services from Triad Health Project's clinical staff and Higher Ground day center; thousands in our community will hear the life-saving message of how HIV infection can be prevented through our HIV education programs; and, hundreds more will know their HIV status by receiving free and confidential HIV testing and counseling.
There is no cure for HIV, but the spread of the disease is completely preventable. THP has lots of helpful information on preventing the spread of HIV on our website. Know your status - get tested!
