Vendor of the Quarter
Harbor Island Yacht Club: Cormac Lawlor and his team at Harbor Island Yacht Club are phenomenal partners to have for sailing regattas. Whether you have 2 boats or 20 boats they give each regatta the same attention to detail and clients always comment on the wonderful experience they had out on San Diego Bay. It is refreshing to have a partner that understands the "last minute" world we live in and are always quick to get information to us in a timely manner and help with the planning of the regatta. We look forward to more sailing fun with HIYC on San Diego Bay! |

New Teambuilding in SD
The Event Team is excited to announce a fresh new teambuilding program in San Diego. The Amazing Poker Run is not a race; it's a game of chance and fun on the beautiful waters of Mission Bay. Fused with elements of television's popular "Amazing Race" game show, this new high-energy teambuilding event is sure to make your heart pound with excitement. After completing an initial challenge, teams race to their respective speed boats to meet their captain. There, they are given a team bag and designating team symbol. Inside each team bag is a map outlining each dock where more challenges await. Navigating the course, teams stop at five docks to pick up sealed envelopes containing a single playing card. Teams can collect additional cards via successful completion of each challenge. Teams may be asked to solve word puzzles, sing songs with nautical-themed lyrics, or complete physical challenges. Each group will also face "Road Blocks" along the way, which provide an opportunity to earn even more cards by learning dance routines, replicating a picture of a sand castle, and more! Each team can earn up to 20 playing cards from which they will choose the very best poker hand. At the final pit stop, our OIC (Official in Charge) will be waiting to reveal the winning hand! | | Amazing Poker Run |

The Event Team holds 1st Quarter Hotel Mixer at New San Diego Venue
Every quarter, we mix it up with our hotel partners for two reasons: 1) to thank them for their valued partnership in helping The Event Team become one of the most trusted DMCs in Southern California, and 2) to showcase a new event space, restaurant, or venue. For our spring mixer, we got in the St. Patrick's Day spirit and introduced our hotel friends to McFadden's, a new Irish-themed pub and restaurant in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. While we love to provide the upscale VIP events, sometimes clients just want a great place to relax, play games, eat food, and watch sports with colleagues after a long day of meetings. McFadden's fits the bill but maintains the classy, professional atmosphere that is a must for our clients. With ample space for large groups, this is a wonderful venue in a convenient location for any casual reception or sports night.

The Event Team goes out "in the field" to Research New Venues
As Southern California experts, we rely on many different sources of information when keeping up with the newest event venues and most exciting activities to offer in SoCal. We subscribe to all the magazines, scour all the newsletters, read all the blogs, and most importantly, we get in our cars and drive around to witness the changes happening in every Southern California neighborhood. Our whole office goes on research field trips 1-2 times a quarter just to make sure we are in the know so you can be too! This quarter, we have spent extensive amounts of time in La Jolla, also known as the "jewel" of San Diego. Some of the most exciting and trendy discoveries we made were culinary-themed. From a mountain-top private mansion with its own garden where VIP groups can relax and participate in cooking demonstrations & teambuilding activities, to a private sushi-making & sake-pairing event in La Jolla Village, this upscale neighborhood has an array of mouthwatering options!

We also took a spin around Los Angeles and must mention one of the newest clubs by nightlife powerhouse company SBE. Greystone Manor can be found in a familiar West Hollywood location (it used to house former clubs Industry & AREA). It features mansion-inspired décor with heavy use of woodwork amongst 20-ft. ceilings with ornate moldings and actual gold-leaf gates. Visitors pass through an entrance foyer into a courtyard that leads to a modern-day ballroom with a double staircase, a center dance floor, and small alcoves and VIP areas reserved for the Hollywood elite. This is THE spot if your group is looking for a high-rolling, star-studded nightlife experience. Contact us to reserve admission and bottle service!
