The San Diego Zoo's Darlene Mendoza has been a great advocate for The Event Team. She listened to the challenges we were facing with tour programs and came up with effective solutions that greatly streamlined the process of taking groups to the Zoo and Safari Park. We are so grateful for vendors that work with us as partners, thereby making the quality of our service even better!

3rd Quarter
James worked on quite a few programs with us this year, and we are impressed by his continuous willingness to help us on programs in any city. James was especially helpful during our many team building events and with taking on extra responsibilities at the last minute. He really knows the meaning of team work, and we appreciate having him as part of our team!
Marnie Buddo
4th Quarter
Marnie has been with The Event Team for quite some time now, and she is a absolute joy to have on staff. Her positive outlook and bubbly personality make her a favorite with clients. She is constantly going above and beyond to keep clients happy, which keeps clients coming back! Thank you so much Marnie for all your hard work and dedication!

Matt's Message...
We have many things to celebrate this Holiday season as we head into the New Year. We are coming off the best year in the history of The Event Team. We are celebrating our 20th year in business. And we are all happy and healthy! It really doesn't get any better. (OK I could lose a few pounds).

The Event Team Celebrates the Holidays in Style
Pictures are up from this year's fantastic Holiday Party! About 200 of our nearest and dearest joined us at 57 Degrees in San Diego, CA for a soiree that included gourmet food trucks, beer tasting, photo booths, live music, and awards.
We love the annual Holiday Party because it is our chance to give thanks to our valued partners. Our success is dependent on the many part-time employees, vendors and hoteliers who join us in providing top-notch service to clients year-round, so it is a joy to be able to honor them for a night.
Besides our typical awards for Employees & Vendors of the Quarter, our president also presented a heartfelt lifetime achievement award to the wife of our late friend and staff member Mike Ames. We also chose the winner for our Hotel Lead Drive iPad Giveaway, which went to Meryl Rammelkamp from the Hyatt Andaz.
Like every year, the US Marines were on hand to collect Toys for Tots donations. This year we filled up 5 huge boxes of donated toys! Thanks to everyone for coming out and for donating! Click here to see some great pictures of the event!

Matt Robbins honored as Most Admired CEO
Matt Robbins, President and CEO of The Event Team was honored as a finalist at Thursday night's Most Admired CEO Awards, hosted by the San Diego Business Journal at Paradise Point Resort in San Diego, CA. This comes on the heels of many other achievements for the year. The Event Team was also named one of SDBJ's "Healthiest Companies," and the company's Director of Sales and Marketing, Lindsay White, was recognized as one of SDBJ's "Women Who Mean Business" last month.  "Robbins has helped his company become known as the outside-of-the-box destination management company with The Event Team's online presence being significantly expanded. He's widely respected and admired among peers in the industry. He is a past president for San Diego MPI and he currently serves on the executive board for the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau" - San Diego Business Journal: December 5, 2011 issue. Matt Robbins has been President and CEO of The Event Team since its inception twenty years ago. The Event Team (in partnership with Hosts Global Alliance) is a full service Destination Management Company, helping clients throughout Southern California with all of their meeting, transportation, tour, teambuilding and special event needs.

The Event Team Re-expands Services to Santa Barbara
Santa Barbara has always been included as a destination serviced by The Event Team, but business in the region had unfortunately slowed to a crawl during the economic slump over the last couple of years. The good news is, business is picking up and The Event Team is once again able to provide quality DMC services in Santa Barbara. The even better news is, our team spent an amazing 3 days and two nights in the city for our winter retreat. The primary goal was to reacquaint ourselves with the area, and the secondary goal was to have fun! Mission Accomplished!
After a few days of site-seeing, wine-tasting, bike-riding, and window-shopping fun, we are certain our Santa Barbara clients will have an endless array of options for their group visits. Hosts Global Alliance (formerly USA Hosts) has undergone major improvements in its ownership, branding and marketing efforts. The Event Team is excited to be a part of HGA's growth and we can't wait to see what the future holds!
Our 20th Anniversary Celebration: We are so excited to announce that 2012 will be our 20th Year as a DMC. We will be celebrating all year with special events, announcements and chances for you to get involved in the fun!
Our New, Improved Brand: To help usher The Event Team into its 20th year, we decided to give our brand a little facelift. We will still feature our trademark star, but we have changed our colors from dramatic reds and blacks to a brighter, sunnier palette of blues, oranges and greens that will both solidify our connection with HGA as well as match our SoCal style and personality. We will also be featuring new fonts and the updated tagline, "super people. superior events." We want to focus on what sets us apart from our competitors, and these two small sentences say it the best! Here's a sneak peak at our new logo...
