Letter from the President
Welcome to the summer issue of the TET Gazette. This newsletter was written to be read in shorts and flip-flops. So sit back, relax, put your feet up and feel the sun shine. (If it's 90 degrees and 99% humidity where you live please sit next to the air conditioner).
Summer is a slower season for us since it is a time for families to vacation. We use it to finish projects we were too busy to touch earlier and to catch our breath and get ready for the next wave.
Summer is a great time in Southern California to hit the beach, go for a bike ride, have a picnic, ride roller coasters, throw a Frisbee....(you get the idea). Summer is the Orange County or Los Angeles County Fair. Summer is Dodger or Angel Baseball (if you're really desperate Padre Baseball). Summer is sitting outside at a concert at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater, the San Diego Summer Pops or at the World Famous Hollywood Bowl. Summer is a time to slow down and take a deep breath. It is a time to enjoy your family and friends because no one ever says at the end of their life... "I wish I spent more time at the office!"
So get out of here! Go enjoy life and let's come back refreshed for a very busy September and the rest of the year! Thanks for reading, Matt

TET Fun in the Summer Time
This summer, The Event Team decided to enjoy its retreat staycation-style with an overnight trip in Los Angeles. Our itinerary was jam-packed with exciting things to do. Some of our favorites were: Whale Watching in Dana Point, Dinner at the exclusive Magic Castle, and a fun-filled afternoon at Universal Studios Hollywood. We were tourists in our own backyard, and we had an absolute blast! Click hereto check out our pictures!

New San Diego Property- Hotel Indigo
Hotel Indigo, newly opened in the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, is the brand's first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified hotel and the first LEED certified hotel in San Diego - one of only 19 in the U.S.
Another first for the brand and the city, Hotel Indigo San Diego is topped with a green roof on the ninth and 12th floors. The green roof, which is covered with drought-tolerant plants, will reduce energy consumption by cutting the need for heating and air conditioning and will contribute to lowering the urban heat island effect. Taking recycling to a new level, the hotel's Phi Terrace Bar and ninth floor meditation deck is also the world's first installation of MoistureShield composite decking, which is made from recycled polyethylene plastic and recycled wood fibers. Dining and entertainment options include Phi Bar and Bistro, which serves dishes based on fresh, local seasonal ingredients. Phi Terrace Bar features a reflection pool, fire pits, lounge seating and panoramic views of the cityscape and baseball games at PETCO Park - sure to become a hot spot for guests to mix and mingle over cocktails.

"I know I thanked you onsite, but wanted to extend my thanks once again! I just wrote a nice review of "The Event Team" in my close out report and very much appreciate your support to make our conference a success. Employee/Vendor of the Quarter Congratulations to the latest recipients!
2nd Quarter 2009 Employee:
Jackie Herman has been a part of The Event Team staff for many years. But recently she has been put to the test and worked for us on some challenging programs. But no matter how challenging the client or the group is, Jackie greets each day with a smile. Most recently, Jackie assisted with a week long program and the client appreciated her attention to detail, positive outlook and "can do" attitude. Jackie has also gone above and beyond to talk with individual guests, promoting TET and even bringing in a new lead!
2nd Quarter 2009 Vendor:
Pete from AV Guys is always a pleasure to work with and will go the extra mile for us. It doesn't matter how many times he has to revise an estimate, as long as the end client is happy with the equipment they are getting. Pete and his team were very helpful with a recent client and went above and beyond to make sure the client felt his needs were being met - while keeping the budget and bottom line in mind. |
Our Sales & Marketing Manager Lindsay has entered her song "It's Hard to be Sad (In a City Like This)" into San Diego Magazine's Your Song Competition. Please take a second to go check out the song and cast your vote to help Lindsay make it to the finals. Last day to vote is July 31st, so hurry! | |
