What We're Reading

People frequently ask for recommendations about spiritual teachings and yoga related subjects. So I have decided to share what I have been reading and what our teachers are reading with recommendation from us all os us.

Not long ago Caitilin recommended to me "A Path with Heart" by Jack Kornfield, which I promptly read. It quickly becoming one of my all time favorite books and a fabulous guide to developing a meditation practice. It is a book you will read over many times.

A few years ago, Carola Lott, recommended "Three Cups of Tea". Carola was vague about the content and I never sought the book out, until a few weeks ago while browsing a Barnes and Noble store and the book caught my eye. Remembering Carola's praise for the book, I snatched it up and began reading that night. This has to be the most inspiring story I've heard in a very long time. This is a real person, who lives yoga (I doubt he has ever done a headstand). The work this man is doing is the way to change the world, it is the only way to peace. I hope everyone will read it and pass it on to people you know.

On a lighter note.... I have avoided reading "Marley & Me" for years - too afraid of hysterical crying at the end. Forget the hysterical crying, if you haven't read this book, and want to laugh hysterically until you can't see, "Marley & Me" is a must read. Not only the funniest book I've ever read, but a lesson in love and acceptance.

Enjoy these last days of summer.
Take a Yoga Class!
