Q&A

How can I use my Watercolour Wonder Crayons?

There are quite a few different ways to use them!

The above sample is simply colouring in with the crayons and using an Aqua Painter to blend the colours.  You can either colour directly onto the image and then move the colour with the brush, or pick up the colour with the brush directly off the crayon and then paint.

The crayons will give you a more opaque colour and easier blending than using inks.

Another technique is to colour directly onto your stamp - right onto the rubber.  Then mist the image with several even spritzes of water and then stamp.  You can also wet the rubber first and then colour.

This technique takes a little practice to get the right balance of wet and dry, but the effect is quite nice.  It's a great way to blend colours and shade the image directly onto the rubber.

You can also shave bits of the crayon into a dish and mix with other mediums and a bit of water to create a paint for your images or for using directly on the rubber stamps.

Crayons are sold in sets of twelve for $45.95 in each of the four colour families and also in the neutral pack (6) for $24.95

Stampin' Up! does listen to our requests!

I know many of you make cards, layouts, and gift items for sale, especially during the upcoming Christmas season.

To be in compliance with copyright laws, any projects using Stampin' Up! images must have the copyright stamp on the back.  Previously, only the Art by Design set offered these stamps, a set of eight for $39.95.

I've/we've been asking for a while now to offer a single copyright stamp at a smaller price for our customers.  The Kind Heart stamp offered on the first page of the Spring Mini Catalogue IS a copyright stamp for only $13.95.

Thank You Stampin' Up!

To encourage compliance, I am offering FREE postage on this stamp through the end of October.

lovely as a tree quick card
Dear Stampers,

September was a great month!  It was lovely to meet and re-meet many of you at the Quilt and Craft fair held in Hamilton.  That is such a nice show to do - a very well run event.  And great news!  Next year will see the same show in Christchurch as well!  I look forward to seeing many of you there!

School holidays are here, and how I love them!  I am taking a few minutes (literally) each day to do a clean out of a drawer here and a shelf there.  It all started with the purchase of a big sauna and we had to rearrange to fit it in . . . then we all got the bug to give each room a makeover.  Or at least a thorough clean.

Here we are heading into Christmas season!  I love it!  And what I really love is the opportunity to create and give to those around me, even on a small budget.   We have a number of Christmas Extravaganzas planned and I am also available for private bookings.  However seats and calendars fill very quickly, so please let me know as soon as possible.  Remember, too, you can always have a catalogue party (see coupon below).

 Wheels. . . .

Click on the photo for the full post

I adore this set!  And even with three daughters, I hunted for a photo I could use with this one because I wanted to use the trains!  (Note that the layout posted before this one on my site is a masculine layout that uses flowers!)

I wanted to show here the use of wheels on pages.  Wheels are simply round stamps that can roll out an image continuously - great for backgrounds but also fantastic for embellishments, as above.

I didn't want the track to go all the way across like a full border, but just more of a frame for the photo.  simple take two scrap pieces of paper and mask the edges of your card and wheel between the two.  This little technique will give you more options with your wheels - you don't have to go all the way across your project if you do some simple masking.

And several customers have used this wheel for a fence rather than tracks . . .

This Right on Track Wheel  ($13.95) is especially easy to use because it's wavy - so if you don't wheel perfectly straight - no problem!  (But we do sell a wheel guide to fix that).  And the Choo-Choo set ($35.95) is of course its perfect mate.  Both of these are available only until the end of November.

Order your Choo Choo set and Right on Track wheel here!
With love and best wishes,
Jacque
