Talent Scouting!
Join Stamp Happy's Creative Team as a Guest Artist!
I'm very excited to announce that starting June, I'd like to create a Guest Artist team of four stampers, one to be featured each Wednesday on my website.
Chosen applicants will be featured for six months, each person one week a month.
Each artist will be sent product each month to use in their project or projects. It will be great fun to see how each artist uses the product in different ways!
You may create layouts, cards, off the page, whatever inspires you! You do not have to use only SU product - your only rule is to use or feature the item(s) I send to you!
Are you up for the challenge?
Send your interest by Friday May 15th. Please include a link to your blog or an attachment of a work you've done recently that shows your style.

Q&A
Why is the Stampin' Up! year changing?
This is very exciting news announced last weekend at the annual Stampin Up convention!
The current Idea Book & Catalogue will now be valued from April 2009 to September 2010!
The reason (and benefits) for this will be that the product offering in NZ and Australia will now be more closely aligned with the product offering in the United States. Their product release is in July, and now ours will be in September, shortly afterwards.
This year will be a bit odd as we transition, but SU has a plan in place. We will have three mini catalogues this year instead of two, and the one that will come in the April-August time frame will be a larger mini catalogue to help bridge the gap.
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions about this transition. | |

Hi Stampers!
What an eventful start to the month of May! I apologize for being tardy getting this update out to you - know that I always have the interest of my customers top of mind! I began this month in Canberra, Australia for the annual Stampin' Up! convention and training weekend. Amongst the thrill of inspiration saturation, meeting up with the lovely Australian demos, and all the hugs from the American team, I was also honoured by being named the 2009 New Zealand Demonstrator of the Year! My most sincere gratitude goes out to both my customers and my Stampin' Up! team for supporting me in my efforts and goals. I am very aware that my success is because of YOU! Thanks to you all very very much for lifting me up to reach the stars.
I have launched a couple of new and exciting things, not the least of which is a new Virtual Class! My intention is to provide more hands-on training and to have some "bigger" projects available to you. Simply buy the class and I will send you all the cardstock and bits and pieces to create your project along with complete instructions and photos. Our project this month is a beautiful box with four equally lovely, coordinating cards and envelopes. Each card and the box use either a new product or a little new technique. While supplies last!
May is also National Scrapbooking month! To celebrate, Stampin' Up! is offering the promotion below for some special pricing on the Designer Series Paper. And I am offering a FREE 6x6 scrapbooking class! This is to introduce scrapbookers to stamping and stampers to scrapbooking! Or to come along and have a chat! May 21st 7:30pm
Please push yourself and join us for the May Challenge - a sketch that can be your inspiration for a page, a card, or an off the page art you wish!
I am also looking for four creative people to be guest artists on my website!! This will include features of your work and free product to use! Read on to find out more.
The last big annoucement: The 2009/10 catalogue year will now run from April 2009 to September 2010! Wait, hear me out! Read on to find out why and how this will be fabulous for YOU!

Keep it Simple: Minimalist Approaches to Scrapbooking
Click on the photo for the full post. I had to dig into my archives to find a LO that qualified as "simple" - not my typical style, but a look that I do enjoy! Here are some tips paraphrased from the Impressions magazine I hope you find useful:
1. Use Repetition. Pick an element, such as a colour or shape, that you can repeat on your page. Your photo is a great place for inspiration.
2. Use Simple Embellishments. Clips, ribbon, and buttons are the perfect finishing touches for a simple page. Punches also add simple elements without taking focus away from the photos.
3. Use Minimal Journaling. Simplify your journaling or use hidden tags or hinged elements. If you want to write more, give yourself plenty of room so the LO doesn't look crammed.
4. Use Stamps as Accents, Titles, Borders, and Backgrounds. Your stamps are a versatile scrapbooking tool for embellishing in a myriad of ways. Use a simple design and consider the possibilities your stamps offer for decorating your pages. |
With love and best wishes,
Jacque
