Issue #10 November 08
Hello Everyone!

Today is the day for the big reveal!  It's still in its infancy with some more tweaks to be done, but the new site is up and running.  Please visit me on my new home at www.stamphappy.co.nz!  Items on the page may continue to get shuffled over the next few weeks.  Truth be told, I am learning as I go, so I fiddle quite a bit.

To kick things off, I'd like to start with a little Customer Appreciation Contest!  Please submit to me during the month of November a Christmas card using SU stamps or supplies.  It does not have to be 100% SU, but the project should at least feature our products.  Cards will be posted on a gallery page with a link from my site.  I'll choose the best project based on it being a Christmas card that is quick to make yet effective.  Which is really the criteria for making Christmas cards!  (We all love those really quick projects!)  Winner will receive a $20 gift voucher from me.

And speaking of gift vouchers, what a great gift idea!  Purchase any voucher from me for $25 or more and receive it packaged in a cute card, ready for gift giving.  It's a great gift for your crafty friends and I am happy to contact your partners if they need a gift idea for YOU!

Now is a great time to join my team of demonstrators.  Whether you are looking for a business to supplement the family budget, some extra spending money, or just want to join a very fun and wonderful group, we'd love to have you!

We have some big events planned leading up to Christmas!  Make sure you check out the Upcoming Events & Classes section.  Some of my hostesses are opening their workshops to the public.  And, of course, please contact me if you'd like to schedule a class or a workshop in your area!

Much love,

How do I achieve two colours on a solid imaged stamp?

Many of Stampin' Up's stamps are modular, or designed so  the elements that should be different colours are separated.  For example,  blooms that are a separate stamp from the stems and leaves. See Petal Prints or Bodacious Bouquet.  However, sometimes there are images, such as that above, where you might want to make it multiple colours and it's all on one stamp.  How?

There are actually several ways, but one easy way is to ink your stamps with the Stampin' Write markers rather than using the traditional ink pads.

1.  Use the brush end of your marker.  I like to tell my students to use the side of the brush tip rather than the actual tip, as this will flatten or fray your tip with use.  I like to keep the tips as neat as possible for as along as possible.  Colour directly on the rubber.

2.  Pick up a second colour and colour in another portion using the same technique.  Continue until your image is all coloured in.  Now huff or breathe on your stamp, then stamp as normal.  Perfect!

Using your markers is also great for stamping only a portion of an image or a few words from a sentiment, etc.  While our inks are indepensible, markers give you further flexibiity and options with the stamps you may already own.
Please feel free to contact me anytime with stamping questions or to enquire about the Stampin Up opportunity.

All the very best,
