Choral Evensong in Thanksgiving for Bishop Alexander
9/30/2012 4:00 PM
Join us in honoring and thanking Bishop J. Neil Alexander as he ends his 11 years of ministry as bishop of Atlanta. Choral Evensong, featuring choristers from across the diocese, will be held at the Cathedral of St. Philip. Bishop Michael Curry of the Diocese of North Carolina will preach. A reception, which will include a number of tributes to Bishop Neil, follows the service. All are welcome.
Sing at the Ordination of our newly elected Bishop!
The Music Commission of the Diocese of Atlanta is inviting any interested singers to participate in the choir for the ordination of our newly elected Bishop. The service will be at Morehouse College on Saturday, October 13 at 11:00 a.m. If you are interested in singing for this important event in the life of our Diocese, please contact Ingrid Siegert and Keith Nash as soon as possible. Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta Announces
An Invitation to Honor Bishop Alexander on Cell Phone Sunday
The Diocese of Atlanta Nets for Life team invites you and your parish to honor Bishop Alexander with a gift of nets on Cell Phone Sunday--September 30th.
An Evensong at the Cathedral of St. Philip is scheduled for that date at 4 p.m. to celebrate the ministry of J. Neil Alexander as bishop of the Diocese of Atlanta. Many in our diocese are able to attend that event, many others are not. Regardless, all in our diocese can join together to honor him through participation in Cell Phone Sunday.
Since Bishop Alexander has led our diocese in supporting global mission, Episcopal Relief & Development and Nets for Life, a gift of nets seems an appropriate way to thank him for his service to us. A presentation of our gift of nets to Bishop Alexander is planned for the reception after Evensong.
You can participate by texting on your cell phone that day, no matter where you are!
