Fighting Malaria in Africa: World Malaria Day April 25

There are an estimated 216 million cases of malaria each year, resulting in nearly 655,000 deaths. The majority of these deaths are children younger than five years old. Join us in the fight against malaria in Africa. St. Michael & All Angels will include NetsforLife in the liturgy on April 29th. Please help us in the campaign to save lives from malaria by donating to NetsforLife on this day.

United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of the Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. Through United Thank Offering, men, women, and children nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. These prayers of thanksgiving start when we recognize and name our many daily blessings. Those who participate in UTO discover that thankfulness leads to generosity. United Thank Offering is entrusted to promote thank offerings, to receive the offerings, and to distribute the UTO monies to support mission and ministry throughout the Episcopal Church and in invited Provinces of the Anglican Communion in the developing world.

The Episcopal Church Women of St. Michael & All Angels collects money on behalf of UTO. Please take a mite box or give in thanksgiving with an envelope from the pew. Your generous giving is appreciated.

A Prayer for Our Candidates for the 10th Bishop

of the Diocese of Atlanta and Our Nominating Committee

O God, we lift up each candidate for 10th Bishop of the Diocese of Atlanta as well as each member of the Nominating Committee for your blessing. Open all hearts and minds to the guidance of your Holy Spirit.

For the candidates ...

Be with them in their waiting and wondering.

Guide them in their ongoing discernment.

Give them courage to seek and do your will.

For those on the Nominating Committee ...

Grant them wisdom in their discernment.

Calm their anxious moments with the

reassurance of your presence.

Give them courage to seek and do your will.

Uphold us all by your grace and power. Give us faith in you and trust in one another and ourselves.

We pray all of this and more in the name of Your Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, Amen.

- The Rev. Deborah Silver, nominating committee chaplain
