Quiet day for women planned Aug. 13 in Decatur
"Being Bearers of God" is the theme for a quiet day for women 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Holy Trinity Parish, Decatur. The Rev. Patricia M. Grace, associate priest for Christian education and parish life at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Atlanta, is the retreat leader. She is a graduate of the Haden Institute for Spiritual Direction and the 2011 winner of the John Hines Preaching Award. The day is sponsored by the Holy Trinity chapter of Daughters of the King. Feast of Mary Magdalene Service SERVICE TO MARK THE FEAST OF ST. MARY MAGDALENE: APOSTLE TO THE APOSTLES & WOMAN OF MANY STRENGTHS Friday July 22, 7:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room. All Welcome. Refreshments follow. The Language and Liturgy Committee of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, 1790 LaVista Road, will lead a Eucharist for the Feast of St. Mary Magdalene. The Celebrant is the Rev. Beverley Elliott. The St. Mary Magdalene Eucharist will reflect much of the recent scholarship on Mary Magdalene's role in the formation of the early Church.
