12 named to Transition Committee for diocese's 10th bishop

The Diocese of Atlanta Standing Committee has appointed 12 people to serve on a Transition Committee that will organize key events in the process to seat the 10th diocesan bishop. Dates for those events have yet to be announced.
The Rev. Beth Knowlton, canon for liturgy and prayer at the Cathedral of St. Philip, has been appointed chair of the Transition Committee. Mitch Strickland, a member of St. Benedict's, Smyrna, will serve as vice chair.
Other Transition Committee members (listed alphabetically by last name) are:
Wendy Porter Cade, assistant rector, St. Edward's, Lawrenceville;
Ann Canipe, member, St. James', Marietta;
Frank Derrickson, member, Holy Trinity, Decatur;
Bruce Garner, member, All Saints', Atlanta;
Kim Jackson, chaplain, Absalom Jones Student Center, Atlanta;
Harold Lockett, rector, St. Timothy's, Decatur;
Rich Martindale, rector, Trinity, Columbus;
Janet Patterson, member, St. Gregory's, Athens;

Mac Thigpen, rector of St. Bartholomew's, Atlanta, was appointed to represent the Standing Committee on the Transition Committee.
Members of the Committee for Nominations were announced April 4.
Serving as chair of that committee will be Robin Schreiber, a member of St. Bartholomew's, Atlanta. The Rev. Allan Sandlin of Holy Trinity, Decatur, will serve as vice chair.

Get ready for another Men's Easter Bonnet Parade! Our annual pot luck breakfast and Contest will be at 9:15 am on Easter morning. Don't miss out on this fun event. Last year's winner CHIP FRAME.
For the breakfast, please bring a dish to share with our parish family. Beverages will be provided by the Hospitality Committee.
After the 10:30 am service there will be Easter Egg Hunts for all the children attending the service.
Following Easter Sunday, Lisa King, the parish administrator will be out of the office. Bonny Collins has agreed to check phone messages and to follow up with any parish related business that needs attention. Please leave a message or send an email if you need to be in touch with the church office April 25-May 1.

Senior Ministry Program and Luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27th at 11:30 am. Beth Michaels will perform on the piano. Lunch is $6.00. Please call Faye or Charles Gardner at 770-491-0413.
The Stewardship Committee will be hosting a budgeting seminar on Saturday April 30th from 12:00 noon till 3:00 in Hensler Hall. Father Paul Elliott will be conducting the training.
