A Site For Women

Kansas City's best resource guide for women with rewards, events, and reviews of local businesses.
Greetings!
I'm driving through my neighborhood admiring the hundreds, if not thousands, of Bradford pear trees in full bloom up and down the streets.

Thinking to myself what a beautiful time of the year.

So what does my younger son proclaim. Man, I hate this time of the year. All these white trees smell like dead fish! Took me a second, but then I realized. You know he's absolutely right. They do smell like dead fish! Thanks son!! Cynical smile.

Aren't kids wonderful? LOL!!

How can you get more people to your Website?

As always I like to keep my answers simple....

The best way to get more people to your Website is to spend time or money getting them there.

Sorry, but there's no magic to it. Just create a detailed plan of how you are going to spend your time or money directing people to your Website, and it will happen.

For those of you with Brick and Mortar locations, every customer that comes up to the register should see a sign or detailed offering that's available only on your Website.

For home business owners, how often are you sending emails to your existing customers? What's in those emails? There should be something of value that they can only get from your Website.

Home business owners, you have to advertise. What in your advertising is compelling them to visit your Website, besides your www. address?

For businesses that run national online shopping carts, how are you communicating with customers who have made previous purchases, AND, how much are you spending on advertising?

Lastly, using online social media. When you use those fun tools like Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, etc... Are you using those tools to drive people to your Website? Everything going on with your company should be on your Web site. Use social online media tools to drive people to your site.

Cool Fun Toys for your Website?
It's amazing how many cool toys are out there for Web sites for little to know cost. Ok, you may not think it's cool, but I've been building Web sites for a while, and I think it's cool how inexpensive stuff has become.

Check out the clients page on my Web site. It takes about 10 seconds to load. Move your mouse to the center of the spinning image directory to slow it down. That client image display toy was less than $30. Or click on the photo's at the bottom of this Johnny's Tavern location page. That toy was free.

The grand daddy of low cost images or movies for a Web site is iStock.com. Check out this video from them, which is one of thousands for only $13.

All of these toys are cool, not to mention the hundreds or so free photo gallery add-on's you can use for your Website. Some of these are really slick.

I guess my point to all of this is....that you don't need to spend a lot of money to spice up your Website. With that in mind, please let me know of anything cool you see out there on sites so we can steal (I mean replicate... I mean glean creative idea's from...) LOL!!
Featured Web Site Of The Month - The Cooking Studio at Whole Foods Market
A little more than two weeks ago they were non-existent in Google for "Cooking Classes Kansas City" or "Cooking Classes Overland Park". Non-existent, meaning they didn't show up at all in Google. We visited with them and did about three hours of work on the site to make it attractive to Google for those two terms. Today they show up on page two in Google for Cooking Classes Kansas City and they are the first listing in Google for Cooking Classes Overland Park. Too cool!!!

Check out their site at http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/metcalf/cookingclasses.php
