Repairs Begin on Graham Avenue

You'll see some orange barrels Downtown beginning this week.  Today, crews from the City of Eau Claire are beginning work on Graham Avenue.   Deputy City Engineer Doug Derks says they'll begin concrete repairs today, and that'll continue the next 3-4 weeks.  The work includes repairs to curb and gutters, and sidewalks.  Derks says they'll start on the west side of the street.  He says that means the west side lane will be partially blocked. Converting Graham and South Barstow streets  from their current one-way design into two-way traffic is scheduled for August, sometime after Eau Claire's Summer Fest on August 4th.

Study Ranks Eau Claire

 as 23rd Brainiest City

The Eau Claire/La Crosse area ranks 23rd in a study of America's Brainiest Cities conducted by Richard Florida, founder of the Creative Class Group.

The study used a new metric developed by Lumos Labs, and is based on brain performance and cognitive capacity.

To measure the smartest cities, scientists tracked more than a million individuals and rated them in five areas: memory, processing speed, flexibility, attention, and problem solving. The information was then linked with education attainment, knowledge, and creative work.

According to Lumosity's metrics, below is a list of America's 25 brainiest metros:
