Downtown Business Gets Mobbed with Cash

"The cash mob experience was truly a blessing."  That's what Infinitea Teahouse owner Jeff Mares is saying about the inaugural Cah Mob that stormed his store on Saturday.  The line reached the door and Mares says   his business increased 123%.  Local organizer Anthony Nied says Cash Mob is a socially networked-based organization of people that come together and show their support of local businesses, by spending $20 at that named business on a particular day.

Another area business will be mobbed on National Cash Mob Day which is March 24.  The site is not yet announced, and only a meeting location may be announced prior to that time.

For more photos, you can visit Infinitea's facebook page.

Spring Break at the Library!

Fun Programs for all Ages

School-age youth are invited to the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire for a variety of programs in honor of Spring Break, March 18 - 23!

Hunger Games at the Library - Sunday, March 18 from 1:30 to 4 p.m.  Youth ages 12 through 18 are invited to register as "tributes" beginning Sunday, February 19.  Register as a team of four, or register individually and be assigned to a team.  Each team will represent one of the 12 "districts."  Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.

Jewelry Making for Tweens - Monday, March 19 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.; grades four through six are invited to come and learn how to make jewelry -- complete a bracelet or pair of earrings to keep!

Fancy Nancy Tea Party - Tuesday, March 20 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.; kindergarteners through second gradeers can come and get fancy at this special tea party.  Enjoy fancy stories, lemonade and cupcakes, a tiara, and make a corsage you can keep!

Baby Beach Party - Wednesday, March 21 beginning at 10:30 a.m.; for ages birth through 24 months. Both of the Baby Storytime groups will join for a special party featuring special games with beach balls, a parachute and bubbles! Beach towels and attire are encouraged.

Preschool Cowpoke Party - Thursday, March 22 beginning at 10:30 a.m.; kids from three through six will saddle up and ride on over to the library for a rootin' tootin' good time. We'll rustle up stories, snacks and crafts that will have you feeling right at home on the range.

Gone Fishin' - Thursday, March 22 beginning at 6:30 p.m.; for grades two through five, accompanied by an adult. Bring your fishing buddy to the library to swap fishing stories and learn how to make your own fishing lures.  Participants will make bass poppers to take home!

LEGO Special - Friday, March 23 from 1:30 through 3:30 p.m.; for kindergarten through fifth grade. Bring your imagination to this open building program. We provide the materials, you provide the inspiration.
