Downtown Eau Claire's
Annual Awards Banquet
Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. is thankful to everyone who supports our Downtown. Our Annual Awards Banquet showcases all of the wonderful things we've accomplished in the past year and looks ahead to all the exciting things that are on the horizon. Executive Director Mike Schatz, through pictures and information, led us through the year that was filled with many successful events and exciting news.
About 60 people attended Wednesday night's Awards Dinner at Houligan's Steak and Seafood Pub to celebrate with us. Keynote speaker Kari Dahl spoke on "Riding the Rivers of Change" as we anticipate Downtown reconstruction and learn how we can embrace the changes it will bring. Guests enjoyed music by the "Quadtones," an award-winning barbershop quartet from Altoona High School.
Special guest host Ben Richgruber of ECRAC announced the awards and the special stories behind each.
Thank you to 2011 DECI Board President Paula Kimbllin for giving her message, as well as 2012 President Mark Willer for sharing what we will look forward in the year that lies ahead.
Thank you to all of our volunteers, sponsors, partners, BIDs, business owners, and DECI members. We could not provide our fun festivals, business support, and other services and events, without you!
More than 300 community members voted in the awards. Congratulations to all the nominees!

Need Any Help on May 12?
Mark your calendar for this year's huge spring clean-up! More than
300 volunteers will be sprucing up Downtown Eau Claire! In coordination with Valleybrook Church, dozens of projects and tasks are accomplished during this one-day event.
Families, church groups, friends, co-workers and others donate their time in cleaning the Downtown area. They clean up riverbanks, parks, roads, trails, and also paint, sweep and plant flowers. It's a great day with an amazing outcome! We hope to see you on May 12th!
Do you have a project that you need help with? If you're a non-profit in the Downtown area, or know of one that can use a few volunteers for a project or two inside or out, please let us know by emailing. We'll be glad to help!

Shortest Parade to be Held Downtown
Find your green and join in on a quick parade in Downtown Eau Claire! While it's a St. Patrick's Celebration, it'll be held a little early! Parade go-ers will gather at the parking lot at 405 S. Farwell Street on March 10 at 6 p.m. The sidewalk parade recognizes the Irish heritage in Eau Claire. Parade walkers are encouraged to carry a sign boasting their Irish family name or ancestry. This short parade will stroll to Lake Street and finish at the Acoustic Café, on 505 So. Barstow Street.
