StirringTheWinds.com Call to Prayer
Greetings!

I have been seeking the Lord for a while about the city of Houston, Texas and in particular have a leading for the month of December. I have been sensing a stirring for Houston, Texas and I am hearing from other leaders as well across the city of how the Lord is moving in our midst. Many are crying out to the Lord for not just a visitation but a habitation of His presence and we are expectant for a great outpouring across the Greater Houston area.

Years ago near the time we felt led to initiate Houston Prayer Mountain I sent out a word for Houston entitled, "It's Time Houston"  In that season as well we shared words regarding the Birthing of Revival... Like a woman in childbirth it's time to P.U.S.H. through.  I believe many would concur that it's been a long birthing process.  In fact one of the churches we've been in relationship with through the years has written on the wall of the sanctuary... It's Time.

During the first nine days of December in which Hanukah occurs this year, I am expectant of something fresh the Lord wants to say and impart.

Though this leading is specifically regarding Houston, Texas I believe that because Houston is an international city, what occurs here will have global implications. So if you are reading this and do not reside in the Houston area, please know that this stirring is not just about Houston-it's for you and your community as well.

Since I began this letter to you some significant gatherings have occurred in Houston, Texas. This past weekend marked the 40th Anniversary of YouthQuake which occurred in Houston during the time of the Jesus Movement.

In addition Rick Peno and Sean Feucht led us in 50 hours of continuous worship that went up to the Lord during Fire on the Altar. There was such a strong sense of God's corporate presence, reminiscent of that which occurred when we hosted the 40 days of Houston Prayer Mountain beginning at the end of December 1996.  It's amazing how quickly the years go by - that was 14 years ago!

With each of these and other gatherings I sense that there is not only something stirring but something is shifting compounded by the events of this past weekend. How fitting that Rick and Sean selected as the last song, Keith Green's classic "Oh Lord, You're Beautiful." Let's especially reflect on the lyrics which say, "Oh Lord, please light the fire that once burned bright and clean. Replace the lamp of my first love that burns with holy fear."

I have also felt led to begin to walk and carry a Cross around the region.  At specific times and locations as the Lord leads I will take the Old Houston Prayer Mountain cross to these points and people are welcome to come for prayer.

Would you consider joining me in prayer for not just Houston but your community as well?  Feel free to send me your prayer requests to prayer@somebodycares.org.  I receive copies of each request that comes and Lisa and I pray over each one.

I specifically felt that I am to remain in Houston during the month of December. On December 3rd I will be ministering in the Woodlands area at New Haven Fellowship.  As you know I am not one to knock on your door or ask for an invitation to come share.  If though you believe that our ministry has something fresh to impart or simply join my faith with yours for what the Lord is already doing in your midst, I would be honored to make myself available to you during the month of December.

If there is a time you feel I am to join with you, simply contact our office at (713) 621-1498.

As always I remain your fellow servant,
