Every day we have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus and allow Him to answer someone's prayer through us! We have included some current needs of which we are aware. Please prayerfully consider how you might allow God to answer the prayers of families in Houston, Haiti and other parts of the world through you!

HOUSTON
Children around the country are going back to school soon. Some dread the thought because their families cannot afford basic school supplies and clothes. But you can be the answer to their prayers! Simply purchase a backpack and/or some school supplies and drop off at our office in Houston. We will make sure they get to children who need them! (We are also accepting school uniforms in new or good used condition). Email Vickie at vickie@somebodycares.org for information
HAITI
Sponsor a Pastor: Pastors in Haiti have been living in harsh conditions and caring for thousands of traumatized people since the earthquake. From experience we know how vital it is to give front line workers a break from the ever present need so they can be refreshed and renewed for the long haul. Somebody Cares is sponsoring 8 front line pastors to a conference in Santo Domingo in September. Doug Stringer will be on-site to personally minister to them as well as others.
$600 can provide transportation, lodging, food and conference registration for a pastor. Please sponsor a pastor for this much needed break.
Homes for Haitian Families: $2,700 can provide a secure home for a Haitian family. Many families are still living in tents and makeshift homes since the earthquake and are subjected to the elements as well as crime. You can provide a family a safe place to call home again for just $2,700! (We have a match on the first 31 homes so those are only $1,200 each!)
Good Shepherd Mixed School: 266 girls and boys are enrolled in this elementary school in Port-au-Prince but without proper funding, it is struggling to stay open.
$48 can provide a Haitian child schooling for a full year!
