Edna Buchanan, FWA's Person of Renown
Buchanan won the 2012 Florida Heritage Book Festival's Literary Legends Award, the Pulitzer Prize for General News Reporting, and the George Polk Award for lifetime achievement.
She served as a reporter on kidnappings, riots, fatal fires, major plane crashes, and more than 5,000 violent deaths. She's written nonfiction and fiction. She's been dubbed "the queen of crime" by the Los Angeles Times. Now she's the Person of Renown for FWA's Collection #5--It's a Crime. Edna replaces R.J. Ellory, who had to withdraw. More...

How to Write Killer Fiction: DiGenti's Celebrity Workshop
Vic DiGenti, aka Parker Francis, will conduct the Florida Writers Foundation Celebrity Workshop October 18 at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary, replacing R.J. Ellory. Vic is the author of the Quint Mitchell Mysteries, which include Matanzas Bay, a Book of the Year in FWA's Royal Palm Literary Awards competition, and the recently released Bring Down the Furies.
