CHEERS FOR VOLUNTEERS
|
|
LARRY KOKKO HAS BEEN APPOINTED TO BE A REGIONAL DIRECTOR for FWA. He takes the reins Hillsborough County from Eugene Orlando who has moved out of state. Larry will also be responsible for Pinellas County. Thanks for your service, Eugene, and thanks and congratulations to Larry for taking on this important leadership role.
WELCOME TO JIM THOMPSON AND CARYN DEVINCENTI as new Regional Directors! Thank you for helping to lead FWA into a very promising future. CONGRATULATIONS TO MARISETTE BURGESS & AMBER GARR on joining FWA's board of directors as representatives of our Youth Writers Leadership Team.
FWA CONTINUES TO GROW IN SOUTHEAST FLORIDA under Leona Bodie's capable direction. As Janie Fuller steps down from her duties as the Chapter Leader in charge of critiques and submissions to manage her own business, Mary Dawson has been appointed to fill the position. Many thanks and best wishes!
FWA'S YOUTH LEADERSHIP TEAM is forging ahead, growing by leaps and bounds, recently adding a website, planning a Youth Day at the 2013 Conference. Caryn DeVincenti has started a Youth Writers Group, and now we have another in the works! Welcome Kimberly M. Smith as our Jacksonville Youth Writers Group Leader.
VOLUNTEERS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED! If you are a writers group or project leader and you need help, or if you want to offer your time and skills to support FWA, contact Jill Andrews, our volunteer coordinator.
VOLUNTEER JOBS YOU CAN DO WITHOUT LEAVING HOME -- OR EVEN YOUR PAJAMAS. Interested in helping out with the monthly eNews (this publication you're reading) or the FWA Network, our online community? Both of these resources offer the volunteer great opportunities to learn more about the organization and come in regular contact with other members. You don't have to be a total techie to help out, but you should be comfortable with technology. Training will be provided. Contact Mary Ann de Stefano to apply for a volunteer position on eNews or the FWA Network.
