Greetings,

Save the dates!

This year's Florida Writers Conference will be held October 23-25 at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary, which was an outstanding venue last year.  It's the eighth annual conference, with more opportunities than ever for you to learn the craft and business of writing. This newsletter will be your guide to all the events planned for this year's conference. If you have any questions, drop us a note.
April 30: Last day for RPLA
rplaEarly Bird Entry Fee
For the eighth year, the Royal Palm Literary Awards Competition will recognize some of Florida's top authors. As in past years, the prestige associated with competition awards will be a great boost for both published and unpublished authors. Entry fees for the contest are tiered this year, $30 through the end of April, $40 in May and June, and $50 for entries received from July 1 to the entry deadline of July 13. For complete information, see the competition website.

lighthouse Florida Writers Conference: Lighting the Way
This year's conference will be the biggest and best ever. Saturday keynote speaker James O. Born, an accomplished Florida mystery writer, will talk about how to use rejection to strengthen your writing, something all writers need. Sunday keynote Bob Sanders, of Mundania Press, will talk about the future of publishing. We also have a rich array of faculty, agents, and publishers scheduled to appear. In the coming weeks, this newsletter will bring you the high points of the 2009 conference, as well as linking you to the conference blog and registration page.

Share information about the conference with friends.
