palm treeJUNE 12: Jerri Fenton will share some insights from  a classic book about writing: "If You Want to Write," by Brenda Ueland with the Osceola Writers Group.

JUNE 12: Molli Nickell, "Queen of Query Letters," will speak to the St. Petersburg Writers Group A  twice-monthly critique group has been added to the schedule, too. Contact Chrissy Jackson for information.

JUNE 18: Shara Rendell-Smock, author of "Hooking the Reader: Opening Lines that Sell," will lead a workshop for the Melbourne group on first lines. Bring a favorite from your own work.

JUNE 21:
Beth Mansbridge, freelance copy editor and proof reader, will offer easy editing tips to the Ancient City Writers.

JUNE 26:
Bring up to four double-spaced pages to read or share at the Lady Lake meeting for critique.

JUNE 28: Paul May, author of young adult and middle grade fiction, will tell Ponte Vedra Writers how to break into writing for children.

JULY  8: Romantic suspense novelist Terri Ridgell will facilitate a workshop about pitching to editors and agents for the River City Writers.

The Northeast Florida Region of FWA has announced the winners of their Lighthouse Book Award contest, chosen from among a record number of submissions.

FWA LEADERSHIP & VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

volunteerMary is stepping down as leader of the Melbourne group. If you're interested in taking over the reins, contact FWA President and Interim Group Leader, Dan Griffith. Freda leaves an opening in St. Petersburg. If you'd like to lead the group, contact FWA Vice President and Interim Group Leader, Chrissy Jackson.
