WISE WORDS
Almost all good writing begins with terrible first efforts. You need to start somewhere. Start by getting something -- anything -- down on paper. A friend of mine says that the first draft is the down draft -- you just get it down. The second draft is the up draft -- you fix it up. And the third draft is the dental draft, where you check every tooth to see if it's loose or cramped or decayed or even, Heaven help us, healthy. -- Anne Lamott in Bird by Bird

WRITERS NEED READERS
FWA Creates Foundation to Improve Literacy
FWA Directors have authorized $2000 to initially fund Florida Writers Foundation, an independent sister organization dedicated to improving literacy.
FWF has already received an unsolicited donation of $1600 from  Outskirts Press, a publisher quite supportive of FWA over many years. FWF is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)3 charity, so donations are tax deductible.

Grant writers and other volunteers will be needed to support this effort. Contact Chrissy Jackson or Dan Griffith for more information.
