Heartstone Country Retreat | Laughter is universal.
Laughter is one of the few expressions we have that needs no translation. As long as we're not laughing at someone's expense, laughter brings a clear message: Peace.
I spoke with someone today on my cell phone about the upcoming retreat and laughed my way through a grocery store line. The people waiting in line looked at me inquisitively and the cashier seemed relieved that someone was smiling instead of frowning. After I finished the call, I turned to look back at the line, shrugged my shoulders and kept laughing. They laughed back. A discourse, with a diverse group, communicated with simple laughter. The message: Peace. Peace to that grumpy grocery store line!
