Greetings in love and laughter!
We are excited to finally publish our May Healthy Laugh-Style Newsletter! We have moved into a new house and the online service was a veeerrry slow in providing new service. But we're back!
As Jon and I have practiced laughing together (almost) every day, we see that laughter yoga brings anyone into a place of unconditional acceptance. At laughter club meetings, while we're all waddling around like penguins and laughing at the same time, inhibitions fall and people are able to access a space of unconditionality - childlike playfulness - childlike acceptance of themselves and those participating. What distinguishes laughter yoga from other meditative laughter practices is that this unconditionality occurs within the context of relationships.
I recently led a sorority at UVA in laughter yoga to relieve exam stress. Their relationships with each other were already strong and they adopted the practice immediately with great enthusiasm.
A similar social phenomena develops within a core group in a laughter club. If people attend regularly, freedom for childlike play abounds. Creativity booms. Relationships become more unconditional from week to week.
I advise participants - that just for an hour - they can leave worries, stressors and any other troublesome thoughts behind. They can pick them back up when they leave. But for one hour, we will play, laugh alot, and generally feel good.
Come join us every Sunday from 3-4 p.m. at The Senior Center for the Ageless Laughter Club. We have diverse practicipants - no membership is required. Just show up! Hope to see you!
