Shelley Lubben is an American Missionary who sees the porn industry as the perfect mission field.
With arms wide open, she passionately reaches out to porn stars and porn addicts with one hand and fights heavy fisted against a multi-billion dollar industry with the other.
And make no mistake - the gloves are off.
As a former stripper, prostitute, and porn actress, Shelley's bold, no-nonsense approach stems from years of survival and abuse at the hand of the adult entertainment industry.
In 1994, she contracted the non-curable disease Genital Herpes while on the porn set and later developed early cervical cancer. After enduring three unexpected pregnancies from prostitution acts, two of which ended in miscarriage, she suffered an entopic pregnancy and a third miscarriage with her husband, resulting in a total of four pregnancy losses.
To add insult to injury, upon leaving the porn industry, she was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depressive Disorder, Impulse Control Disorder and substance abuse.
Disease and disorders didn't exactly mirror the welcome sign of fast cash and fame that the industry had promised.
With little hope left, Shelley endured eight hard years of recovery at the Champion's Center in Tacoma, Washington and found her reason to live in God and Christianity. Years later and against all odds, she lives a happy, healthy life.
She later returned to the porn industry with a message of hope.
Shelley and her husband Garrett founded the Pink Cross Foundation, an IRS approved 501(c)(3) public charity, dedicated to offering adult industry workers emotional, financial and transitional support for those who want out of the adult industry.
She and her knockout team reach out to thousands of porn stars and sex workers through individual attention and care packages and offer support and counsel to porn addicts in Pink Cross's Help Forums.
Shelley is the president of the Pink Cross Foundation and is an ordained Chaplain to the porn industry under The Order of St. Martin. And just for the record, she is the spiciest, most passionate Chaplain you could ever hope to meet.
Relentless in the cause of human rights, Shelley educates people all over the world about the villainous porn industry, the risks of prostitution and pornography, how to overcome addictions, and other subjects including Theology and Christianity. Shelley has spoken around the world and continues to spread her strong message.
Shelley attended Pierce College in Tacoma Washington, Wisdom For Life Leadership School, and Harvestime International Bible College where she received a Christian Workers Certificate in Biblical Studies.
She has rallied around adult industry workers since 2002 when she began volunteering as a teacher and counselor at local rescue missions and prisons in the State of California and has nearly finished her Bachelor's of Theology/Counseling degree from Vision International University in California.
Shelley enjoys raising her daughters, speaking, writing, web design, studying great Reformers, inspiring people to never give up and is extremely involved in reform and social work.
