Honoring Mothers Who Left Porn on Mother's Day

Greetings!

This newsletter is very special because we want to honor women who have left porn and who are Mothers. It is extremely hard to leave porn while trying to recover and raise little ones at the same time so we want to wish them a VERY special Mother's Day from Pink Cross Foundation!

Maddy Out of Porn and Becoming a Mommy! 

I am very excited to announce that another porn star has left porn and is having a baby girl expected in mid-July! Maddy, formerly known as porn actress Michelle Avanti, left porn in January, 2009 after crying out to God for help.

Karly, formerly known as Becca Brat, has been out of porn for over 3 years and has a beautiful 2 year old daughter named Brooklyn. She attended web design school and now has a full time job at a well known chain restaurant. She has been through many challenges through her recovery but didn't give up. We are so proud of you Karly and honor you!
 
 
 
 
 
Jan, formerly known as Elizabeth Rollings, has been out of porn for a year and a half and is working very hard raising her three children. She recently married a wonderful man named James who joined the military. She has been through many ups and downs including being single raising three children during her first year of recovery, found out last year she has Herpes and had Chlamydia, lost her Grandmother and is struggling financially. But she didn't give up and in fact has been a HUGE help to Pink Cross Foundation reaching out to porn stars and porn fans at conventions and sharing her story on TV and in churches and on the web. Kristenye, former teen porn actress, has been out of porn for almost two years and has accomplished much in such a short time! She is raising her beautiful daughter, Gabby, and is married. Although she has struggled through her recovery she is an extremely determined and talented young woman who didn't give up! She recently finished 8 months of sexual group therapy and says she feels more confident and is growing in the Lord everday. To read more about how she is doing click here. We honor you Kristenye!
 
Amanda, formerly known as Erin Moore, has been out of porn for over a year and is raising her beautiful son. She has overcome many obstacles and still has health issues but isn't giving up. She is a great Mom and we are extremely proud of her! We honor you Amanda!

April, formerly known as Ashley Brooks, has been out of porn for over 10 years and has worked a full time job and is a HUGE help to Pink Cross Foundation. Jennie, formerly known as Veronica Lain, has been out of porn and the sex industry for almost two years! She was in the sex industry for 17 years and has been through so much! But by the Grace of God He pulled her out and now she is living a whole new life working hard on her recovery. She is also raising her beautiful son and works a job. We are extremely proud of her. Julie, formerly known as Sierra Sinn, has been out of porn for almost two years and is now raising her daughter for the first time. Julie left California after her first year of recovery and is now recovering quietly near her family. Julie has been extremely courageous sharing her story publicly and standing against the lies of the porn industry. We are so proud of her for leaving porn and we honor you Julie for being a great Mommy!

Garrett and Shelley Lubben Ordained as Chaplains
 
Garrett and Shelley were ordained as Chaplains on April 4 and are now authorized to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, perform marriages, baptize and confirm and to practice all Biblical and religious activities pertaining to this office in accordance with the laws of the United States, as directed by the Board of Leadership Servants of the Order of Saint Martin. We were ordained by Jeff Hetschel, Vice President of the Southern California Chaplains Assocation.

 



We are very excited to serve and love all people with the love of Jesus Christ and especially want to offer these services to people in the porn industry who need help to rebuild their lives after porn. So, if you're in porn and want out and need to get married, baptized or learn about the amazing love of Jesus, you know who to go to. (smile)
 
We especially want to thank Chaplain Jeff and Chaplain Kurt for recognizing the call on our lives and ordaining us. We are deeply honored.
Pink Cross Foundation Featured on MTV 's True Life
 
Ex porn stars Tamra, Jan and Shelley of Pink Cross Foundation were on MTV's True Life episode "I'm addicted to porn" where we reached out to porn star Jayden Jaymes. It was actually a great episode and we encourage you to watch it here.
 
We love you Jayden and truly believe you are made for greather things than porn.
 
Please pray Jayden and other porn stars would see their value and leave an industry that only destroys lives. It's very hard to see the "light" when you're making $$$ and pressured by the porn industry to be the hottest new "star." Please pray eyes would be opened and they would see their true worth and do something better with their lives.

Pink Cross Foundation an Approved 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization!
 
We are VERY pleased to inform you that Pink Cross Foundation is exempt from Federal income tax under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The IRS has determined that Pink Cross Foundation is a Public Charity.
 
In a nutshell, this means we can offer tax deductible receipts and are qualified to receive any gifts, properties or transfers YOU want to give us!! After much hard work and waiting for almost 8 months to receive any word back from IRS, we FINALLY received the IRS Determination letter that we are approved and we bawled our eyes out and praised God for giving it to us just in time! Thank you to all of you who stood by us and helped us during this tedious process.
 
Our tax id number for your records is 80-0142359. We will also send out receipts at the end of the year. All monies donated since January 24, 2008 are tax deductible. Thank you for standing by us and helping us build Pink Cross Foundation and reaching out to women and men trapped in porn!
 
*We still need your continued help as the ministry grows rapidly and more and more women and men come to us daily for help.
 
Below are immediate needs we have at Pink Cross Foundation.
 
We need finances for:
 
 Women who leave porn and the sex industry to help pay their living expenses such as food, utilities, rent and clothing for their new lives.
 
 A two bedroom apartment we rented to help women recover from porn. We offer one of the rooms to a missionary who volunteers full time to help Pink Cross Foundation. Her name is Heather and she assists me as well as mentors women who come to us for help.
 
 Daily operational expenses. We do our own printing, computer and web programming, video editing, mailing out carepackages and letters to women and men in porn, we mail supplies and much more right from our own home! Please help us with the daily expenses to run Pink Cross Foundation.
 
 Porn conventions coming up. We need to put money down to rent booths at the porn conventions so please help us as soon as possible. The earlier we pay for the booth, the cheaper it is!
 
We also need:
 
 A building! If you are in the Bakersfield or San Fernando Valley area and want to donate a building to us please let us know asap! Our home now has two rooms dedicated to Pink Cross Foundation plus our garage is overflowing so we really need a building. 
 
Our kids will be very thankful for the day they don't have to hear the word "porn" in our home so a building is most important and will greatly help our family! 
 
 We need finances for our new Pink Cross Foundation Bible which you can learn more about here. We are very excited to be approved by the American Bible Society to create a Bible which will appeal to sex workers all over the world. We want to meet them where they are at with the love and power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ so we hope you will help us purchase the new Pink Cross Foundation Bibles.

About Shelley Lubben and Pink Cross Foundation

Shelley Lubben is a wife and mother, a missionary and ordained Chaplain to the sex industry, fighter for truth and advocate for sex workers who are abused by the adult industry.
 
Shelley is also a former porn actress fighting tirelessly against the pornography industry which affects most of the world in a destructive way.
