WINNING
winner
That's right, folks- The epic burger battle has ended in a dead tie. Between the facebook poll and the write-ins (email), The BBQ Slaw Burger and The Mac Attack ended up with the exact same number of votes. It is worth noting that The Quite Scientific Burger came eerily close to a third place tie as well- only a few votes short!)

In the event of a tie, both burgers shall be put on the menu and each creator wins FREE BURGERS FOR A YEAR! We would like to officially congratulate Billy Burton and Tom Halvorson for their winning burger creation. They each created a unique burger with mass appeal. Good Job!

We would also like to thank each one of you who submitted a burger recipe. The response to the contest was overwhelming and we are again reminded of just how awesome our customers are.

Hey Depot Town, You're Lookin' Pretty Spiffy
Our Block Got a Makeover!

It has been a summer of changes for our corner of the world. Not only did we get the street redone, we also just had a TON of work done on the rail road tracks. (Fear not, people, construction traffic has almost reached the end of the road!)

In addition to the street and the rail work, Cross Street is also about to get brand new rain gardens, just in time for fall.

In similiar news, The Thompson Block has been painted! Not only is all that scaffolding gone, but the building at the end of the block looks better than ever with new 'windows' and a brand new coat of paint!
Sacred Cow in Da House
Local Brews are ALWAYS Good News!

Be sure to stop in a try this bruiser of an American I.P.A.! According to Arbor Brewing's website, "Sacred Cow I.P.A. is a bold, refreshing, hoppy India Pale Ale with superb roundness and balance. This delicate balance of rich malts, tangy hops, and crisp carbonation makes our Sacred Cow uniquely and deliciously drinkable."

Don't wait too long to try a Sacred Cow, we don't know how long it will last and we are sure it will moo-ve quickly!

Sidetrack in Cyberspace
A heads up about two local blogs covering pretty neat stuff (including The Sidetrack!)

Meg Goes Nom Nom-
Meg is a local girl who writes about her local dining experiences and her love for food, cooking and eating out. She recently wrote a lovely post about her trip to The Sidetrack for a BBQ SLAW BURGER*
*Editor's note: Meg is the wife of the burger's creator, Tom Halvorson.

FOOD FLOOZIE- This local food blogger (and columnist for annarbor.com) writes a pretty cool piece called Frugal Floozie Fridays about dining out for under $5. We were thrilled that she featured our Opera On Tap event (it's FREE!*) & our Decedent Delight carrot cake as an affordable evening on the town. Be sure to check out her other suggestions on great ways to eat well on a budget!
***OPERA ON TAP HAPPENS AT 7:30 ON THE FIRST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH AND IS EXTREMELY POPULAR. PLEASE CALL JESSICA FOR A 7:30 DINNER RESERVATION @ 734.483.5230 or CLICK HERE for more information

Big Hits at The Sidetrack!

 hit1

Over the nearly 130 years our building has existed, there have been a fair share of interesting accidents surrounding the building. Many may know that our building was hit by a train in the early 1900s. The impact of the collision left a gaping whole in the building, which was bricked up and unused for over 100 years. In the 1990s, Linda French put up a fence, added a few French doors and, ta-da-, that is how hit2our front patio was born!

Recently, our building suffered yet another hit, although this time by a car! Late one night, a confused motorist took a little too sharp of a right turn and smacked directly into the front of The Sidetrack!

Big Things Happening At Our Little Bar

We are making some pretty great changes here at The Sidetrack Bar and Grill, evidenced by the  construction going on around the building. We are currently in the process of upgrading our basements in order to make more room and freshen the place up a bit. Digging out 150 year old dirt floors has been a surreal and rewarding process so far but we are looking forward to the over-all improvements the project should yield!
