Distributed Solar to be Implemented in CA
The California Public Utilities Commission has just voted unanimously to approve Southern California Edison's plan to install scores of tiny (for a utility) 1 MW to 2 MW grid-connected systems scattered across the rooftops of commercial buildings throughout the utility's Southern California service area - to eventually add up to a half Gigawatt of distributed solar power.

IBM Announces Quantum Leap in Solar Efficiency
Researchers at IBM have increased the efficiency of one type of solar cell by over 40 percent, to 9.6 percent. This is up from the previous record of 6.7 percent for this type of solar cell, and near the level needed for commercial solar panels.

Renewable Energy World Conference & Expo North America to be Held Feb. 23-25, 2010
