Does Your Workforce Measure Up?
How Do You Know?
Did you watch the Super Bowl?  Did you watch it for the game or the commercials?  If you watched it as much for the ads as for the game - as I did - then you probably couldn't help but notice the spots for Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com.  NOT noticing the woman screaming in her car was impossible, am I right?  With thousands thrown out of work since last summer, the workforce is in flux, and knowing your workforce and training needs has clearly taken center stage among the biggest - if not THE biggest - issues in Economic Development for 2009.  Innovation measures have captured this trend as well:  the one and only IPO in the 4th quarter of 2008 was for a company in education.  How can Economic Developers understand their workforce in the ways that matter, thereby understanding their competitive position against other labor markets?

Kolzow Training the World Bank
Dave Kolzow is completing the development of a multi-day management seminar for the World Bank.  This seminar is focused on training top management in investment promotion organizations in developing countries.  The first workshop is scheduled for Nairobi, Kenya this spring.
