Your Contribution This Year Made a Real Difference in our Schools

Thank You!

Dear Loyal Contributor,

As we turn the page to another school year, the Sudbury Education Resource Fund (SERF) writes to thank you for your generous contribution to SERF in the 2009-2010 school year.

Your contribution this year helped fund crucial and innovative projects in K-12 classrooms at Sudbury Public Schools (SPS) and Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School (LSRHS).  This year, SERF had a record number of grant applications from teachers seeking a record amount of funding, so your contribution has never been more important.

At LSRHS,  your donation helped fund:
  • SMART boards in Math and World Language classes
  • cutting-edge lab equipment for Earth Science, Chemistry and Physics classes
  • flip video cameras for World Language classes
  • professional development for counselors to help them manage their most challenging cases.
At Curtis, your gift helped fund:
  • an expansion of the eighth grade Civil War unit
  • the Geography Alive! program
  • curriculum enhancements in math and environmental education
  • a project to help combat substance abuse.
Across all four elementary schools, your donation helped fund:
  • a first grade lending library
  • a fourth grade immigration unit
  • programs for students who need extra math challenges and for those who need help filling gaps in their math knowledge
  • workshops to help kids cope with challenges like divorce, grief, anxiety and stress.
In the individual elementary schools, your gift helped fund:
  • a science club and curriculum chorus project at Haynes
  • a kindergarten literacy initiative at Nixon
  • music and special education resources at Noyes
  • a read-aloud lunch program at Loring.

SERF's Board of Directors is comprised entirely of parents of children at SPS and LSRHS, at every grade level from preschool through high school. We are deeply grateful for your support of SERF, and its mission to ensure that our students have access to leading-edge resources and technologies, and that our teachers receive all the support they need to provide their students with a world-class education.

Our children's educational experience would not be the same without SERF, and we could not do it without the generosity and commitment of donors like you!
