If everyone in Sudbury contributed to SERF...

it would make the difference between a good education for our children and a great one.

SERF promotes innovation in Sudbury's classrooms by funding leading-edge projects in math and science, languages and the arts, emerging technologies, social development, teacher professional development, and more.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of many individuals and businesses, SERF funded over $57,000 in grants, such as the ones featured below. Read more
about the grants made possible by SERF donors and view our grant photo gallery. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Supporting Sudbury Public Schools and LSRHS "Flip Video" digital camera pilot program for grades K-8
SERF funded this broad pilot of a new technology, "Flip Video" digital video cameras, in grades K-8.  A core group of 17 teachers and curriculum specialists have been trained in creating and editing footage that  can be incorporated into class presentations using the ActivBoard. Technology Curriculum Specialist Donna Criswell also intends to create "best practices" videos for other teachers.

Science manipulatives pilot program for 8th graders at Curtis Middle School
SERF funded the initial purchase of new hands-on manipulatives for the Physics Lab at Curtis Middle School. After finding success with these pilot materials in the Physics Lab, the district later purchased additional hands-on materials, bringing 8th grade science students an interactive experience while studying the concepts of physics and performing other science experiments.

Lincoln-Sudbury Madrigal Concert1st Annual Renaissance Madrigal Dinner: a fundraiser for the LS Choral Program's Carnegie Hall performance.
The Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School Choral Program used this grant to purchase  Renaissance costumes for their First Annual Renaissance Madrigal Dinner, a fundraiser held to defray the cost of the students' performance at New York's Carnegie Hall. Students wrote the script, while learning about the madrigal style of music and then spent the evening performing in character.
