10 Tips for Successful Business Networking

When using Cambridge Who's Who to network, do not use the people you meet strictly for gain. Promote lasting relationships by showing consideration. An ideal networking relationship is one in which both parties benefit from the connection. The more time and effort you put into your professional relationships the more you will get out of them. Keep the attitude of giving first and receiving later. Provide resources and initiate opportunities for others in order to be a successful networker. Remember to keep your word and do not make promises on things you cannot deliver.

 Effective Email Marketing

Here at Cambridge Who's Who we urge members to contact each other via email. Follow these tips to network effectively with your fellow members via email:

Always use a greeting. Whether it is an email marketing campaign or general correspondence, greet the recipient. Many people feel that it is okay to write casually, but this does not apply to professional emails. Begin your message with Good Morning, Dear, Hello, etc.

Respect the privacy of others when sending out mass emails. When you are emailing a large amount of people at the same time to promote your product or service use the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) field instead of the To field. If you send an email using the To field, every person who receives your email will be able to view your mailing list addresses. Using the BCC field is best practice as it will hide all other email addresses, protecting your contacts' privacy. Another option is to use a mail merge, so that each recipient will be sent an individual email.

Proofread! Nothing says unprofessional more than an email with spelling and grammatical errors or typos. Getting a second set of eyes to look over your work will safeguard against this and increase responses to your correspondence.
