The Platzl Cuckoo Clock
We need your input!
This past Labour Day weekend the Platzl Cuckoo Clock reached it's 38th birthday.  Originally fashioned from old washing machine parts and built in one weekend, the clock has worn many "faces" over the years and remedial work has been done by dedicated volunters and Chamber staff to keep it running.
We need your input to establish the next step in the life of this structure.
Please take a moment to answer seven brief questions in our survey below.

Kimberley Home Hardware

Adam and Josee McMillan are thrilled with their new life in Kimberley.  In fact you would be hard pressed to contain their enthusiasm for our community and the potential it holds for their business.  Tiring of the fast-paced lifestyle they lived in Calgary, they wanted to relocate to a small center to raise their family (River, Addison and Levi the Golden Lab).  Josee's parents owned a Home Hardware in Calgary for 35 years and when they discovered that the Kimberley franchise was available, they wasted no time.  They visited Kimberley in January 2010 and immediately fell in love with the opportunity, our friendly town and the beautiful surroundings.  Six months later they took over the business and went to work remodeling. remerchandising and expanding the inventory to include as much of the Home Hardware line as possible.  They are excited to announce that they are now an official Panasonic Dealer.  While you would think that taking on a busy hardware would be enough, Adam grins as he shares his vision of expanding their business into a full Home Building Centre complete with a lumber yard and garden center.  Even grand visions must start carefully and the McMillans recognize that they will need strong community support to reach their goals.  They hope that Kimberley residents and business people will discover that they have everything they need and that contractors will have easy access to supplies.  Right now, it is easier than ever to start those Fall home projects with the current Home Hardware Card promotion: Six months no payment, no interest and no fees.  They are the official supplier of Beautitone Paints and they plan to be fully merchandised by November.  Join them at their Grand Opening in December and bring in the kids to meet with Santa on Saturdays during the Holiday Season.
Adam, Josee and their staff look forward to serving you and hope to see you on the slopes this winter.  Adam wants to  ensure that the whole family enjoys everything Kimberley has to offer and he even aspires to becoming a true "Dirtbag".  Welcome to Kimberley, Adam and Josee!

Shop Locally - Our local economy depends on it!

Maurice Frits and Jenny Broere of Kimberley Promotions-Go Kimberley Magazine launched the Locals Card in 2009. The New Chamber Member Business Directory

Now Available!
Another great reason to join your Chamber today!

The 2010/2011 Kimberley & District Chamber of Commerce Member Business Directory is ready.  While Kimberley businesses and the Chamber are very much tuned into the "Internet Age", we recognize that there are many people who prefer to use more traditional print media for information.  The new Chamber Member Business Directory is printed in a handy, portable format that will provide exposure for our members and ready access by everyone. The directory is being distributed to local businesses, the City, the Library and other resource centers.
Member businesses are grouped according to sector such as Retail, Trades, Spas & Wellness, Professional Services, etc., and each business is assigned a code letter that will indicate its location - eg. B for Blarchmont, P for Platzl. In addition to member business listings, the directory includes a section for events and festivals. The result is a directory that will be valuable to local consumers, business people and visitors alike.  Contact the Chamber today for your copy of the directory.

To be listed in the next printing of the directory you must be a Chamber Member - it is one of the many benefits of Chamber membership.  You can apply for membership today by calling (250) 427-3666, by visiting our website at www.kimberleychamber.com or dropping into our office at 270 Kimberley Avenue.
